I Found this CM on consignment at a local shop. What a nice bonus to get a vintage box of ammo with it.

S/N K3301XX puts it at 1958

It was filthy, but it cleaned up nicely.

Some guys have all the luck!!! You must be living the good life...nice very nice but the ammo is way overpriced LOL.

What do You mean..VINTAGE!! Thats the same ammo I carried when I first started the cop job...in the early 70's....Never mind.

Great revolver purchase and it looks great in the cigar box

Thanks. I think that I'll keep all the elements together. Perhaps I'll find out more of the story someday.

OK, I'm guessing someone will start calling me "vintage". Guess they're right. :) I like old ammo. I spent years stopping at country yard sales and barn sales, scarfing up the old boxes and partial boxes of ammo. I remembered it from my youth. When Dad would let me pick in the dirt for the old fired cartridges (and an occasional dropped round.) Those were treasures, but he'd always confiscate them at the end of the day. I remember I particularly liked the nickel plated Super-X rounds. Something about the tiny letters embossed into the head of a 22.

I never forgot them, I just hadn't seen any in years. Then one day maybe 30 years ago I stumbled on a box. From then the race was on. Everyone I saw came home. And I learned a new trick from it. Any yard sale where the sellers/folks were old (look who's talking), I'd ask. I'd try to be polite, and I didn't always limit it to 22s. :) But I'm still in the mode of wanting my youth (who isn't.) So when I see a cigar box, I'm instantly interested.

Extend that to gun shows and walk in old coots. I'm really afraid soon I won't be able to find many guys much older. But some of the guys our age (yes, I'm assuming) may have their own fathers cigar boxes. Pay particular attention to old style boxes, not the newer ones. Those have the most potential. :)

What a great find. You are really going to enjoy it. They are some of the best shooting revolvers you will ever get your hands on.

Very nice Combat Masterpiece and a 4 screw to boot.

From the ejector rod it appears to be a 15 no dash .

Congrats
