you tube?

My understanding is that each view is worth about ¾ of a cent. Some You Tube channels get demonetized, meaning they get nothing. Mostly gun channels.

I believe subscriptions are also a factor. I saw one YouTuber saying that someone with 60k subscribers can make something in the range of $2-3k/month. But that may be related to views. I'm not a YouTuber so I don't really know the details.

I have a few videos posted on you tube but I don't make any money on them.
I also watch a lot of videos on you tube and I hate I mean HATE all the ads on them.

Some you can cancel after 10 seconds or so. Others you have to watch to continue the video.

Definitely not worth subscribing to the ad free service though.

You need to be logged in if you want your subscriptions saved and new videos put on your Home Screen.
If you can't find videos you like on YouTube, you ain't looking!
Another Fav of mine is Arizona Ghostriders, Western Trivia.
I also like videos on the Lost Dutchman Mine and etc.

I got $10 says it's "can't comment . . ." Tied to his/her user account. Anybody can watch. They don't know who you are until you log in . . .

From what I've read, you can't watch "age restricted" videos.

I don't really have any way of testing that, that I know of.

You put a smile on my face, I never saw the sense with that crapout ever, good for you.
I'm interested in exchanging opinions, not chanting dogma or engaging in autos da fe. If I were, I'd join a cult or the Chinese Communist Party.

Facebook and Twitter have mostly degenerated from meaningless blather about people's cats to a Maoist struggle session. YouTube is hard on their heels.

That's true. You have to have an account and be logged in to watch what YouTube has deemed "age restricted."To test it, find something that you're pretty sure would be age restricted and try to watch it. No charge . . .

That seems to me like going to the Soviet Union in 1937 so you can see what constitutes "anti-Soviet activity". Since I have no way of affecting the outcome, I see no point.

I read someplace that Hickock45 a retired teacher
now has a net worth of 1 mil.

Plenty of retired teachers have a net worth over a million...especially in my part of the world.

I have to say that YouTube has saved me a lot of money. I have found videos on how to fix many things. ((Refrigerators, pool equipment and recently LG clothes dryer) If it has broken chances are good someone has posted video on how to fix it. I don't like social media but the fix it videos are great.

This has been my experience as well.

I watch a lot of other videos on it also, but they aren't nearly as practical.

Andy

This isn't a YouTube story, but this thread reminds me of all the ways people are able to make money because of the internet.

.........

Only in America...I love this country... :)

It never ceases to amaze me at all the different ways people make money. Love it and love hearing about it. The American Dream. God Bless America and those that defend her.

I went with a Prime membership just to avoid the Ads. For me, it's worth the $12/$14/month to not be annoided.

The tons of 'how to' vids and plenty of old documentrys means I watch you tube way more than Netflix.

I don't watch broadcast TV at all, nor have I ever joined Facebook, Twitter, or any other "social media" platform. Lots of stress and bad info avoided from the jump.

But, if I need info on changing out the capacitor on the central air or, different methods to 'stratify' chestnut seeds, a quick search on you tube brings up more than few vids with the info I need, along with no ads... It's money well spent.

I rather enjoy watching reaction videos on YouTube. It's kind of like watching something with friends.

Or so I'm told... :(
