Your choice on a hicap 9mm compact ( ** New Reply** )

Compact is the goal, correct?

For sub/micro compact. P365

I am in the CZ camp also with the CZ RAMI. I love mine. It has been reliable, easy to use, maintain and accurate and they come with a great Czech gun making heritage.

An older Sig P228 would be my suggestion. Although I'm sure that all of the other suggestions are fine, I'm not a fan of striker fired and/or plastic guns. There are plenty 228's around on the used market. Pictured is an older West German model.

There is a reason the Sig P365 is the most popular small 9mm, high cap pistol. I carry mine every day in a pocket holster and I shoot it as accurately as my 4" pistols. It is also utterly reliable.

Because it was the first micro strike-fired 9mm pistol. Sig makes it, and a lot of people base what they buy on brand names. If Beretta, CZ, Kahr, Canik, Taurus, Springfield, etc released the same exact pistol, it wouldn't have been as popular. The aftermarket support that Sig and others offer. Many people are followers, and what other's buy influences their opinion and what they buy.

Other than that, it's really no better than the other options on the market. You can't go wrong with a Hellcat, Shield Plus, and all the other small 10+1 or so competition.

EDC 43x with 10 round OEM mags previously. Got a P365 Xmacro and the 17 round capacity in such a small form factor was enlightening. Picked up regular P365 too.

OEM 17 rounds, factory night sights and decent trigger make the Xmacro a better deal than the 43x/48, IMOHO.

Odd man out here Springfield xd 9mm subcompact. I have both it, and the service model. Mine are the older ones when they first came to America. Originally they were the HS 2000. They are made in Croatia. I like them because they fit my hand, I shoot them well. Grip safety, loaded chamber indicator, and cooking indicator as well. As others have said find something that fits your hand, and you shoot well.

Compact 9mm

I1ve seen a few posts where someone says "I`d get a Glock 19". Hmmm, Vance Outdoors has the Compact M&P (4'barrel) 9mm with 3 mags and night sights advertised for$400. That would be "my" choice for the Glock 19.

After many years of resisting Glock I finally settled on a G19.

I’ve carried more guns in several different calibers than anyone I know. But I realized I wasn’t avoiding Glock. I was avoiding Glock people.

Those that say “Glock is perfection” or “ If you don’t own a Glock, you’re stupid “.

I realized that Glock was everything I truly needed and nothing I didn’t.

With lots of practice I overcame the grip angle issue. The gun simply works all the time. If it gets sweaty and dirty, the gun doesn’t care. It works.

Need a part? A magazine? Holster? See your favorite gun shop or shop online.

These days my G19 sits on my nightstand with a 21 round magazine and light attached. I carry a Glock 48 with a 15 round mag and a 10 round backup. Slimmer. Lighter. Same firepower.

What’s not to like?

I'll second the mention of the CZ 2075 RAMI. 14 plus 1 or 10 plus 1 capacity (depending on your state). It is a solid little brick. The weight feels better in my hand absorbing recoil then it does at my belt pulling my pants down. I deal with it. It's the only semi auto 9mm in my EDC rotation.

I have a CZ 2075 RAMI and regard it as a high capacity sub compact. The CZ 75D Compact PCR is my “Compact” CZ.

Otherwise I am in total agreement. The CZ 2075 RAMI is the smallest sub compact 9mm that I feel I can shoot really well at speed with a full power self defense load, and with enough comfort to ensure I practice with it on a regular basis.

An exception of sorts is the single stack Kimber Micro 9 (MC), which has a micro compensator. I was skeptical and mostly bought it for the slightly longer threaded barrel. However the compensator works really well and significantly improves its controllability with double taps and controlled pairs. It’s much more controllable with faster split times than the regular Kimber Micro.

I’m thinking that the Sig P365 is worth a second look just because it is small enough to pocket carry without being a mouse gun.

Not sure if it’s been mentioned but the Smith M&P 2.0 9C. A little heavier than the Glock 19 but the same size w/better ergos & steel sights. Blue label model comes w/three mags.
