I wanted to be something noteworthy. King, Your Ruler, High Almighty, Big Kahona...you know the drill. Didn't want to appear as an egomaniac.

Choice of ammo.

Well, back when I joined the forum, my favorite S&W firearm was the Model 40, but I figured that wasn't a very distinctive characteristic, so I took my handle after another gun I kind of liked.

Long, long ago and far, far away I wrote a short story about a car club in southern California.

Club name was The Road Rats...

Hadn't thought of it in decades until I needed a login.....there it was!!!

When I was a young'un, my grandfather had a 3 Ton Diamond T Reo flatbed with a lift on the tail that my dad would give me "elevator" rides up & down on. I still have the large single air horn that was mounted over the cab. So, Diamondtreo is sort of a link to my past.

I was initially going with "CajunLawyer", but I'm neither a Cajun nor a lawyer, so it made nary a bit of sense. Then I thought up "Handejector", but that one was already taken. Third choice was "Sipowitz", but I've never sipped any witz, so that also was rather senseless. I settled on MC5AW, because I believe in kicking out the jams in life as best as possible.

It's the early 70s; you have young male Flintstone cartoon personality from the 60s..........my initials........and I'm on the college rifle team

When your college girlfriend is tasked (by my friends, LOL) to put a nickname on the back of your intermural/college softball jersey ...you get... "BAM-BAM"..............

so 30 years later I need a screen name........ for some firearms related forums........ guess what comes to mind!!!!

I WAS FORCED OUT

If I wanted any chance of being able to buy S&W related stuff, I had to leave Wisconsin. There just wasn't enough available in the state to keep everyone who is active on this Forum well supplied.

So, I was forced out and you know who you are........ :)

Hence, my "handle" was born out of the necessity to feed my addiction.

Also, I have a bridge for sale as well.

William Layton is my real name. Being from the South I was called Williamlayton and did not learn until I was older that it was actually two words.
Blessings
