From the Rhyme or Reason thread… I keep thinking less about what I have last bought and more about what I would like to buy next. Trying to constrain this only to S&W’s (since it is their forum, or rather Lee’s forum about them…) I figure this is my potential next four money pending and great deals aside…

442 since they are making them without the lock

M&P .357SIG with an extra .40SW barrel since I want to reload for the .357SIG and already load for the .40SW

629 Talo three inch barrel since I love the N frame and love the three inch barrel models

625 – Trying to decide between Thunder Ranch model and the PC version… Can’t decide and don’t have money for either one yet, but I’m full of will power and dreams…

So what are your next for wants, needs, desires, wishes, and gotta haves??? ;)

My "grail" gun, if you will, has been the no-dash 640 for quite some time. In fact, I'd like to add 2 to my collection.

I'd also really like to add another 642, or possibly a 442 to my collection (no-lock, of course). I've been leaning toward making this my top priority for my next gun purchase.

I really like my 2" 64 and would definitely love to add another one, particularly if it comes with a factory bobbed/DAO hammer.

(I like the idea of having duplicates in case one needs to be sent off for repairs).

One gun I would definitely like to add at some point in the future is a 2" 12-4 RB (or 2). I want one in good condition but not so good that I wouldn't want to carry it or hesitate about having the hammer bobbed and converted to DAO (or at least do a parts swap to get there).

Unfortunately, the way my finances have been it will likely be well into next year before I can seriously begin to think about adding to my collection.

:) I am not a wealthy person so I don't think out as far as what my next four S&W's will be. A friend of mine has a S&W 34 snub I know he will sell. It's in really nice condition with the two piece box, tools, and papers. Been thinking about that. Don

Hate to say it-but my next is going to be the new Ruger SP101 10 shot .22-unless some screaming deal on a now unknown Smith comes up :D

I have a Sig 226 Elite Stainless on layaway at Buds - should have it by the end of August. Next will be a SW 1911 E series, then a Kimber 1911 then a Colt XSE - all government (love the 5"). After that a 3" 1911, but haven't made up my mind which one - sort of leaning SA, but who knows. Last year I was in a SW revolver mode - bought 6 of 'em, but I really caught the 1911 bug this year.

my next 4 will be a 610 no lock 6in a 48 with two cylinder 22 and 22mag .and a 629 or 625 6in been saving for a 20-28 gage sporting set and that will be my main concern this year

Not that I have the funds but here goes:

- Model 940
- Model 625
- 3rd gen full size 9mm to compliment my 3913LS
- K38 Masterpiece to go with my K22

If restricted to just S&W's

1. 66 or 686 with 4" barrel
2. 2206 for my youngest son
3. 6906
4. Haven't gotten this far....yet!

I really don't know until I see them. But just for this thread, I'll guess..
K-38 Masterpiece (early post-war, with the funny turned up hammer.)
M-48
M-63
A .44 special, I like most of them.

I am resolved (however infirmly) not to buy any more guns. I already own guns for which I have no ongoing mission or use, some of which haven't been shot in years, and may never be used in my remaining lifetime. Keeping some are the equivalent of keeping a lawnmower or rototiller in my condo's garage ---pointless. Maybe I should confront this reality and dispose of the unused, unneeded inventory?

1. Next gun is gonna be a minimum 357 mag caliber. Mainly for carrying outdoors. Something to lug around so it doesn't have to be nice just reliable.

2. Will probably be a ccw piece. I like the 3913 but it would have to have a sa/da action (or easy trigger), a hammer spur and single stack.

3. Fun stuff. Maybe a rifle type.

Got my eye on a Ruger KP89D at my LGS.

For a revolver it's going to be something like .44 Mag or .454 Cassull

1. 4" 28-2 Highway Patrolman. Bought one in 1979 and sold it to but a 6" 686. I have acquired two 6" 28-2, but the 4" still eludes me.

2. 6" 629 no dash P&R with just the ejector shroud. (not full underlug)

3. 4" 66 up to -3, P&R.

4. 6" 617 10 shot.

3913 is DA/SA single stack.
Doesn't need a hammer spur - At least mine doesn't - due to the really nice DA trigger.
Sweet pistol - Too bad it's a 9.

If you lived in Florida I would be more than happy to help you. I have guns I don't shoot and am very VERY happy to still own. I never meant to become a safe queen guy, but some of them I just love having even if I don't shoot them. My M1 Garand is in that group.

Nothing from the current crop of S&W's and just one more .41 Mag. a early 58 otherwise more C-name revolvers.

I buy what appeals to me at the moment of purchase. There are always guns that I would love to buy but why spend a lot of money for a new gun when I will eventually find on used in great shape.

The lock issue that bothers some is not a factor with me and i will buy one with the lock just as quickly as I would a non lock.
