Your screen name, what does it mean.

A nickname going back to High School, if not Junior High. If you see it just about anywhere then it's more than likely me, I use it alot. My name is Rich, I've always been a pretty big guy, and 315 is the number "they" printed on the back of my neck...

I was working for Meggitt Defense Systems/Caswell when I joined the forum. MDS/Caswell is one of the largest manufacturers of shooting range equipment in the country. I was working as a field tech installing and maintaining law enforcement and military ranges in between aviation jobs. The travel got to ge too much, so I'm back working on aircraft.

My avitar is a range inside a DOE nuke facility "somewhere".

I guess I actually should be plane tech or something now.

I've really enjoyed reading all of the posts in this thread. I usually don't go in the lounge much, but I'm glad someone dug this thread up.

+1 for Iggy

I have been a medical examiner and forensic pathologist for 45+ years. Medxam is on my car tag, is my password on most sites and just seemed a natural.

I am now retired from digging out projectiles!

used to do a little trap shooting and always shot a perazzi gun. i just spell mine differently.

Black Sheep, every family has one. I was sitting at a family reunion trying to figure out who the black sheep was and came to the realization that it was probably me. Since that time it's been my user name on a number of internet forums...

BTW, great story Iggy! It sounds like you've led an interesting life.

I was the Chief aircraft pilot for the NBA Charlotte Hornets, then moved to New Orleans when they became the NBA New Orleans Hornets. Was their Chief Pilot for many years tell forced retirement in 2007. I very much miss flying and still think about it every day. Captain Hornet

New to this forum. I generally use Unfairadvantage to remind me of what we want our Members of the Armed Forces to have when the time comes for them to get serious. Same for the law-abiding citizen too.

Easily volitile (explosive) by someone who would hit me sharply about my sensitive areas.

Years ago, I started importing african art. I got an aol screen name way back with aol version 1. Always kept it and always get asked about it.

Lot's of people think I'm black because of the screen name and email address. I'm just a plain ole' white boy from Oklahoma.

I got a call about a fight in a rural bar, and a crazy man had run everyone out of the bar and was in there alone.

Bar fights weren't usually my beat as a Highway Patrolman, but I was the only LEO available in the county right then.
Being forewarned by the patrons and bar owner about what was going on, I put on my riot helmet and grabbed a riot baton.

When I went in, he had a pool cue and we went to war. He was too drunk to be very dangerous but he weighed 295 and couldn't feel any pain.
I split his forehead open,(that really pissed him off) I broke his collar bone, and a couple of ribs, before he quit.

Iggy was a lone wolf mountain man type.
On the way to town, he said, "Damn, you're nasty with that stick!"

While he was in the hospital I was his only visitor.
When he was released from the hospital, I took him to court and to jail. He got 30 days.
I was his only visitor.

When he got out of jail, I took him back to his mountain.

When he treed the bar again, they called me.
He would be on the fight until I walked in
He would say "Aw hell, I can't fight you, you're my friend." He would grin and hold out his hands for the cuffs.
From then on when Iggy got into trouble, they would call me on or off duty and I would go get him.
Over the years we became good friends.

I told him if he got drunk and killed someone in a car wreck I would never forgive him.

One day I was called to investigate a wreck on the mountain. It was Iggy and he had run off the road and wrapped his car around a tree. He was pinned in the car. I crawled in the car with him.
He looked at me and said, "Chip, I didn't kill anyone else."

I said,"Yeh, Iggy, I know" and he died.

I was the only one at his funeral and I spread his ashes on his mountain.
People couldn't understand why I went to all the bother with someone like that.
All I could tell them was," Aw hell, Iggy was my friend."

I

Wow that is some story, I applaud you for being a good friend to him. Thanks for sharing that.

Mine's from the rank I retired at when I left my PD. Corporal. I was older than most of the young guys on the line, hence the name Old Corp.
