If you remember the comic strip "Calvin and Hobbes", Tracer Bullet was Calvin's private investigator alter-ego. I'm not a PI, but I figured fire investigator was close enough and the name seemed like a good fit for a firearms forum. :)

Well, my name's not Fred, but I was kinda on the spot when I signed up for the forum and wanted to use "NFrame" and found out there already was one who apparently shared my preference for the big framed S&W's . . .

taking my cue from sergeant Provo in "The Green Berets" who insisted his memorial namesake (should he be KIA) had to "sing" . . . hence, 'Provo's Privy' . . . .

. . . so . . . being on the spot and finding my first choice already taken my reflex was to opt for something that sang

When I was a young teenager in the sixties, "Bullet" Bob Hayes started tearing up the NFL for the Cowboys. I was fairly rapid for a Caucasion, and my first name is Bob, so friends started it. Nowadays I'm barely making wadcutter velocities.

A personal inside joke.I could explain it,but jokes lose their edge when you do.
