Ok, play along...

As you can clearly see in the attached pic; Yukon Cornelius is packing a S&W - probably a 64, 65 or 66 (possibly an N frame?) with nice bone stocks.

But alas, even HE knows he's undergunned against the Abominable, or 'bumble', Snow Monster. So he doesn't even take a shot. He probably knows that he'll just make him mad. With his firepower he probably can't take anything down larger than a Sasquatch. Yukon, Hermey and Rudolph along with the sled dogs are forced to run, barely escaping on a tiny iceberg. Had the tiny iceberg flipped over it would have been a Greek tragedy and Christmas would have been changed forever!

So here is the question; is it possible that Yukon's predicament was the driving force for development of the larger calibers like the .500 and .460?

If Yukon had been up-armed with a .500, .454, or .460, do you think it would take down the 'bumble'?

Model 629 with either a 4 or 6 inch barrel, with a powder charge that is as close to max as the shooter can effectively fire. Make them solids with a steep shoulder.....and placement is key with a 'bumble.

Some people want to be pistol packing arctic explorers...some people just want to be a dentist...
