THE CORRECT PRONUNCIATION OF LEUPOLD

I say "loop-old" but I am polite and don't correct anyone that says "loop-a-old" or "lee-pold" or even pushing the envelope with "lee-a-pold."
It's good stuff.

The clip instead of magazine thing really pisses me off, though! :p

I always assumed it was a German name, which would make it Loy-pold. That's how I'd say it, without more info. But I sure wouldn't argue with the guy who belongs to the name.

I vote for....

I vote for Lou-poled.

It really surprised me when I found out Hoppe's was pronounced Hop-eez.

Just don't say Nyu-cu-ler as in bombs. There's no excuse for that

Kids at the range tell me it's a Loopy 'scope.

But then it's Remmy & Winny too as far as they're concerned.

I only have a 2 scopes , use neither, no Leupolds.
I do have a Lyman Alaskan. Is that Lie-man or ,,,,

It would be "LOY-pold" in German. This isn't Germany and nobody I know pronounces it that way. And I'd wager a few shekels that the people who sell them don't give a good brisk damn how people pronounce it as long as they buy the excellent product.

I tried pronouncing it the German way a few times and got laughed at, so I said to hell with it. :D

Hmmmm.....? Toledo?

Is it To-lee-doh?
Or is it Ta-lee-dah?
Or is it To-lee-doo?

Personally, I like To-lee-doo. Or Ta-leed-ah.
