So I have an empty spam can (and the wooden crate it came in) from my 7.62x54r and was wondering if anybody here ever used them for anything?

I have a friend who used his for a parts bucket in the garage (throw in old bolts and pieces that he doesn't want to categorize). Any other ideas? This can is in really good shape...

If the wooden box is open on both ends, you can use it for a makeshift porta potty. Just about the right height for sitting on...dig a little hole underneath and be careful of splinters. I think the can would make a good solvent tank for small parts, if it doesn't leak.

Nail the lid back on the box. Cut about a 2" dia hole on one side.
Put the box up in a tree and you'll have a Comm Bloc style marked squirrel house.
Kinda camo'd too w/the green paint job.

Partitian it off into 4 simple sections inside before closing up the roof,,make 4 entrances and have a Soviet Squirrel Public Housing Project.

All makes for happy neighbors,,and squirrels.

First one I emptied I flattened the sharp edges on the spam can and use it to soak small parts. The wooden crate I put a light oil finish on it, hinged one side of the lid and put a brass window latch on the other. Makes a good gun cleaning supplies box and the parts soaker tray fits in like it was made for it. The second wooden crate I decided to fill with bricks of 22LR. Fortunately this was done at pre-panic prices. Third wooden crate is still unopened and is in my Just In Case stash. Fourth wooden crate is only half empty so I still have time to plan but the camp table sounds promising.

I was going to use the wood crates as draws. I was going to make a simple wood unit with shelves sized so the crate would just slip into it. The green cans could be dividers inside the draw.

I thought it would be nice next to the safe and a good spot to store mags and holsters etc.

I dont know what to do with the galvanized tin cans?

The one I opened I chopped a hole in the bottom so the can still appears sealed...

I said I was going to do it, I still might but my project list is almost as long as Santa's list at this point.

Ive only four wood ammo crates.

1) Is used to store my STG 44/22 rifle it came with.
2) Is used to store my 2 & 1/2 ton car jack in--fits perfectly too.
3) To store my small militaria collectables in.
4) Completely filled with 22 and 9mm ammo.
