A gun ban (HF 3628) has been introduced in Minnesota, apparently modeled after the Illinois gun ban.

A pretty good description is here:

Didn't Minnesota try something like this a few years ago? Hopefully there are still enough sensible law makers that it never gets out of committee.
I'm an FFL dealer in Iowa, 15 miles from the MN border and I can't sell any of the so-called "assault weapons" to a MN resident. Not sure when that went into affect. MN also requires a permit to buy the "assault weapon" and the FFL has to report the sale to local LE.
MN is chipping away at the 2nd Amendment.

I don't know how sales to a MN resident would work, but an "assault rifle" purchase requires the same purchase permit that is required for a handgun. A MN carry permit satisfies the requirement.

According to federal law, a long gun is still a long gun even if a purchase permit is required. Being an "assault rifle" should not affect the legality, but maybe the purchase permit does? No idea.

I suspect low. People are bat-guano crazy here. MN is already one of the highest tax states, our leftist .gov increased the state budget 40% last year. Yep - 40%.

But, no doubt they manage to fix most of the states problems with the money. You must have excellent health care, no homeless, wonderful roads, great schools and very little crime:o
