Tonight's episode was a memorial to Dr Donald "Ducky" Mallard MD, whose character was played by the late David McCallum. Very touching.

The late doctor's dog was named Solo!

I realize that many here don't care much for the series, but I find it nice when an important member of a show dies and is treated with respect.

We stopped watching the show when Abby left. It just wasn't the same and plots started getting weird.

My wife really likes the show, and we continued for a while, but Abby leaving was where it went off the rails for me. At this point, it's borderline unwatchable.

We recently started over with S1E1 on Paramount+ and are enjoying it again. I think we're up to season 5 now. It's still unrealistic, and a little ridiculous at times, but the original cast made it entertaining.

I stopped watching long before that. It seemed like every other episode was about someone from Gibbs' past who was out to kill him. Haven't missed the show.

Also, having spent two decades in the DC area, their idea of the local geography was bothersome at best. I recall an episode in which they were in Manassas Va and you could see the Capitol rotunda in the background.

IIRC, most of the show is actually filmed in California.

I know, you can tell by the houses. However, you cannot see the Capitol from Manassas.

In more than one episode they'd drive from DC to Norfolk and right back again after picking up the suspect. They wouldn't even interrogate the suspect in Norfolk, they'd drive him back to the Navy Yard for the interrogation. Seems very inefficient to me.

Blue Bloods does similar stupid things. Danny's a detective in Queens so he goes to his sister in Manhattan to get a warrant. Different counties.

Ducky was the only character I liked on that show. McCollum did a fine job of creating an interesting and likeable character.
The rest was utter unbelievable fantasy, especially when they all grab their gear and run out of the office for a gunfight.
The tech side was kind of fun fantasy, but those office types turning into supermen/superwomen at the usual gunfight conclusion, a middle aged man travelling the world as a super sniper, along with not ever having an older or ordinary looking woman in the cast, really put me off.

I continue ( like right at the moment ) to watch it on Netflix but they only have the first 15 seasons so I have not seen anything newer. I like it but I got to wonder how interested I would be in it now with most if not all of the original cast gone. No Ziva , No Tony, No Abby , No Gibbs , No Show . Only McGhee is left of the original crew from the first few seasons and he is the and being Bellisario's step son he can probably stay as long as he wants. Gonna miss seeing David McCallum , have watched him in many things through the years and always enjoyed his work.

I watched the first several seasons in the beginning. It was a good show but then just the same old stuff
Usually happens when the main characters are no longer around, Then the absurd NCIS LA, what a ridiculous show!

Have not seen it in many years. How did he die/go away in the show?
