For whisky, it’s mostly rye for me, Overholt, Rittenhouse, Templeton, and a sleeper, Canadian Club 100% Rye, surprisingly good especially because I can’t stand the blended Canadian whiskies.
Bourbon for a special occasion is going to be Booker’s barrel strength, simply the most tasty, easiest to drink hard liquor I have come across, a surprise since it usually comes at 125 or 130 proof. It costs more than I can afford, which is a good thing. Also good that it doesn’t appear on the shelves very often. When I was drinking bourbon, it was usually Beam, in large part because it is available in the 750cc Lightweight Traveler, a flat plastic bottle that slides easily into a motorcycle saddlebag.
