I know this is not a target practice/plinking round, but would the HMS 305 gr. Bear Load be ok to shoot a few out of a Model 29? Considering a box for the back country hikes and campouts. Anyone here have any experience withy this particular load?

I can't speak for the 305gr, it must be older or newer, but I have shot their 300gr JSP .44mag load (marked 'bear load') over the chronograph from my 7.5" SBH. It averaged 1088fps for five shots.
This weekends' chrono; - Glock Talk
Something like that wouldn't worry me in an N frame, I use it for my 3" 629-5.

The 305 gr. is a flat nose and the 300 gr is truncated. I don't know which was introduced first, the 300 or the 305. If something like that would worry you in an N-Frame why do you shoot it in yours? Just curious.

Garret makes a nice super hard cast flat nose in .44 mag that if my memory serves, is 325gr.
It's fine for 29s and specifically made for bears.
I have no experience with the one you asked about, though.

I mistyped that. I don't worry at all with that load in my N frame. Sorry.
