Two of my good friends just became Ruger LCP Max owners and I have been teaching them how to shoot. Since they are firing over 100+ rounds per week, it gets a bit expensive. .380 acp is almost twice the price of 9mm most places.

They bought two cases of the New Republic ammunition in .380acp and I knew nothing about that brand as it is a newcomer to the market. I shy away from foreign made ammo in most cases except for the brands that have proven themselves over many years, (PPU, Fiocchi, Magtech, etc.).

Anyway, they have been shooting this new brand out of their Ruger LCP Max's and so far after shooting about half the cases up, the ammo has performed flawlessly. My recommendation to them was to use it only for Range sessions and save their Federal ammo they also have for SD purposes as I believe Federal is about the most reliable ammo out there and Federal's velocity is a bit higher than the New Republic's.

I can't speak of any other calibers as this has been my first experience seeing it shot in quantity, but so far it is a less expensive, accurate and reliable round - at least in the 380acp. It is sold at Target Sports and delivered free when bought by the case.

I see it is made in Hungary and available at Target Sports. Beware when searching on the Web, as there are two companies with the same name.

They show 985fps as the velocity, but don't state a barrel length. Still, European 380 (AKA 9mm Kurz, 9x17 etc) is usually loaded hotter than Remchester range fodder. I have a bunch of Fiocchi for our 380s and it works well, but I shall keep an eye out for this new stuff.
