CrossBreed Holster Questions/Advice Needed.

Ok, I am going to purchase two crossbreeds holsters in the near future. Because of the wait time I figure just order them both, and only wait once.

Im going to get a Supertuck Deluxe for my M&P40.

And hopefully soon I will have a Shield 40.

For the shield I am torn between another SuperTuck Deluxe or a Mini Tuck.

So I am asking for some advice on these two holsters regarding the smaller lighter shield. But mostly about the Mini Tuck.

I have read here on the forum and other places about the CrossBreed Holsters the SuperTuck Deluxe mostly. So I have decided on this brand. But any information will be greatly appreciated.

I went with the horse. I sweat a lot. I love it. I would think the mini would be perfect for the shield. Get the order in. It's a wait. Mine is for a sig pro. Fantastic holster.
 
N82tactical.com professional model the only way to go for the Shield.
Sorry its not a crossbreed, but so much more comfortable and no waiting, plus sweat will not transfer.

I have the same problem, I already decided on the horsehide.

Ok question for you about the N82. I have not yet been able to hold one, I see how they would be comfortable. But is the backing thick? I am a bigger fellow got me some love handles. And the pictures I see just seem like the backing is padded and thick? That would probally make it stick out a little bit more on me.
 
I think the crossbreed has a better load spread and the attachment isn't ontop of the gun. King tuck is a clone and galco is huge so no waiting, I got one for j frames it's good and all but it's a rip from crossbreed. I feel the same about kel tec and ruger.
 
The backing for the N82 is about 3/16. Its is a layer of suede and tanned leather with neoprene in between. The padding is what makes it so comfortable. There is no break in period it is already soft and flexible. I have had mine on for over a year about 14-16 hours a day. I am built like a 2x4 and it hides well on me with only a t-shirt. The weather here will not allow for any more. I searched long and hard before getting it and it was the best 70 dollars I have ever spent. I don't think the padding behind the gun will hinder your ability to conceal at all.
Sorry to be the guy to suggest something you didn't ask about, but I love this holster and will be buying another for a different gun.

No apology needed I asked for advice too and you were giving me just that advice. Thank you. I checked the N82 holsters out online some more and read up on them. I guess the pictures just make them look thick and puffy. But 3/16 isnt thick.
 
Don't forget to check the Crossbreed Seconds website. They're ready to go and waiting for a foster home. I've gotten several 'Seconds' and had to use a magnifying glass to find the blems.

The Minituck would probably be fine for the Shield.

Thanks I knew they had one but the thought never dawned on me. I just looked no luck this time but I will keep trying. Until I decide what I am going to do.

I just got the Minituck for my Ruger LC9 (just a bit smaller than the Shield) and it was a great choice as it is quite a bit smaller than the Supertuck (in which I carry an HK P30) but is just big enough to be comfortable for the smaller gun.

I have an N82 sized for J frames. It is not overly thick and is fantastically comfortable. It has one disadvantage: for me, at least, it is a slow draw because I have hard time getting a good grip on the gun due to the fact that the holster totally shields the body from the gun's grip. This means that it is more comfortable than the Minituck but makes the gun less accessible, at least for me and my body. Also, the version of the N82 that I have does not permit the kind of butt forward cant that I prefer, while the Minituck does. Get the N82 Professional if you want anything other than a neutral carry (it was not available when I bought mine.)
 
Personally friend, if you're going to go for that minimalist style kind of holster (and I have one so don't get me wrong) I prefer shtfgear.com. I carry both my Ruger and my Springfield in one. I liked them better than the crossbreed and actually sold my crossbreed to get these.

I have carried a M&P9c in a Crossbreed SuperTuck Deluxe for a number of years and love it. When I bought my Shield I actually carried it in the same holster for a couple of months. It was slightly a loose fit but was do-able. I then ordered a MiniTuck for my Shield because of its smaller size. I couldn't wear it for more than a couple of hours at a time, and after a week I knew I had made a mistake. I called Crossbreed and they said to send it back and they would exchange it for a SuperTuck Deluxe, which they did. I can now wear it all day without a problem..sometimes I forget it's even there. For me there wasn't enough leather covering the grip with the MiniTuck...the butt of the gun rubbed me too much, especially without a T-shirt between the gun and my skin. Mine is cow hide in black leather with NO combat cut.
 
My son uses a Crossbreed Supertuck for his Glock 19 and loves it. I did not like it at all. In all honesty, I prefer a OWB pancake style holster, or even a belt slide holster, to anything IWB. Try to borrow one to wear for several hours before you plunk down that much money for it.
