Do you carry a flash light every day?

No. Never had even a remote need. However I do have one on my phone. Use it once a year or so when the power happens to go out at night or when kill the circuit breakers to do work. They're in the basement and I still need to see to get back upstairs

Twice I have been in public buildings when the lights went out and the emergency lights didn't work.

Same thing happened to me, but I was working as a guard at the time so I had a light on me. I've carried one whenever out-and-about, day or night, ever since.

I carry a Stream Light , rechargeable every day. I use to carry Mag lites
until a cop buddy set me on rechargeables. I have bench charger and one
in Truck. I have some rechargeable work lights I use everyday too as
well as battery tools. I charge them daily and they give me good service.
The hardest thing on these rechargable devices is non use.

I haven't carried a Zippo for years, carry BICs.

I carry a small single AA cell flashlight all the time.

It uses AA sized Lithium Ion rechargeable batteries, but will work on an old fashioned standard AA in a pinch.

I ordered it from China and paid less that $5.

(Not a great picture, but you get the idea)

Have streamlight nano’s on all my keychains.....and carry a Gerber Recon as part of my daily “ be prepared” gear. Flashlights have always been an integral part of my gear for close to forty years. Was in a large home improvement store several months ago at night when the lights went out. It was DARK in there! There were emergency battery powered lights, scattered throughout the store, but they were there to satisfy codes, not to provide effective lighting. Good flashlights are as important to me as a good quality folder, phone, handgun, ammo, etc.

Love the ProTac HL3. The only thing negative is that they don't offer rechargeable batteries for it
Yes they do...

My son got me a Streamlight Nano last Christmas. It's with me always, but on my daily carry backpack. Love that little light and at $10 they're hard to beat. Here's a 6 pack for $37:

I think that every single person who is pschologically, physically and legally able to carry a concealed firearm should be doing so (even if it is just a K***** p32).

But I can think of three things besides your wallet and keys everyone should be carrying. A cell phone, a small knife and a flashlight. (A pen is really useful too but not as crucial.) Just like an EDC, it is important to have one, even a small, less than optimal one.

I can't tell you how many times I have needed one of those three items. My EDC, maybe NEEDED it twice since I retired (or more accurately it was just really, really comforting to have).

Nothing wrong with any of that but I've yet to need a knife or a flashlight outside of my home or work. I have a pocket knife in my car. It's been there good knows how long. It has traveled from car to car to car. I used it once to cut a piece of cheese when I first bought it. It lays in the bottom of the center console. I'm pretty sure the pen dried up long ago as well. I'm not saying that I'll never need those things but in 20 years of driving ive yet to

I looked for a compact light that would suit me for an EDC light and I think I've found it in the Streamlight ProTac 1L-1AA. I've been carrying it for the past few months and have been quite impressed with it. Very compact and bright with a good throw of the beam. One distinct benefit is that you can use either a CR123 or standard AA battery.

Carry, no other than my phone. In my truck, several. Work desk, yep. On my guns, some. In the house, several throughout.

I carry a 4/7s Quark single A size light with a 14650 lithium ion battery. Lots of light on high. Came with a nice velcro flapped holster. Sorry to hear they closed up shop.

That's surprising.

I use my flashlight at least once a week.

Only needed it once for self defense when a guy in a park at night started coming towards me and I needed to assess his intent. (Turns out he was just taking a walk).

But for looking in boxes in the garage, under the sofa, checking the breaker panel on the side of the house, checking car oil, etc. a light is useful.

I've found having a small, low cost flashlight to be essential.

I favor the low cost LED lights you can order from China on eBay to be the best bargain at only a couple bucks each. If you lose one, no problem, just get another.

I figure the fancy expensive tactical lights are made on the same Chinese assembly lines and the brand name on the side is the only difference.

In any case, the low cost lights have proven reliable for me.

Breaker box is in the basement which has light. Of I turn the breakers off I have my sell phone but the last time I touched it was 5 years ago or so.

Garage has light

Car oil checked outside during daylight. But rarely anyway since I use 5k mile oil

No parks here but there is a jogging path between two developments but the chances are slim to none of mugger being up here. Not impossible of course but not likely.

Anyway it's good to have one or seven. I just never had a need for them except when power goes out in the evening and the last time that happened was in 2014 massive ice storm

In the time I've been doing security I've gone through a bunch of lights (including the old D cell Maglight). These two are the ones I carry every night

Batteries, Chargers, LED Flashlights, and More!

The first light is a Fenix E12. This the light I carried when I was working straight days and occasionally asked to stay over after dark. It has 3 settings 8 lumens, 50 lumens and 130 lumens. It runs off of 1 AA battery which is widely available and its small enough to fit in my pocket. Now that I'm working straight nights it's my back up. The one drawback to this light is that it doesn't "remember" the setting so you turn it on at the lowest setting and you have to click it up and sometimes you turn it off.

Cost 25 (ish)

Fenix UC 35 This is the light that's clipped to my vest right now. It's the only light I have that doesn't run on AAs (It runs on 2 CR123s or a rechargeable 18650 battery) but it IS rechargeable and it charges through a USB port which means I can recharge it with my phone charger at work if I need to.

It has 5 brightness levels and a strobe (that I never use)

14 lumens
50 lumens
180 lumens
480 lumens
960 lumens

This light "remembers" the last setting you put it on so I keep it on turbo and step it down if I need to.

Cost 89

I carry both every night but I find I use the E12 more often than the UC35 when I'm just doing a check. If I run into someone on a site I use the UC35

Yep, a mini Maglite in a Nite Ize Pock-ets holster with my Leatherman. I have 1 for work and 1 for "dress."
