Got to see the new Glock 42

The sample I looked at had some take up on the trigger and then a very hard final pull or "click" It's not the regular Glock feel. I would not have a problem as a pocket carry.

As mentioned though my PM9 is actually smaller (a bit wider) so why bother? My Ruger LCP fits in my Speedo:D

The gun will sell just because it is a Glock. I am no fan of Glocks but this is pretty nice. It should be 9mm however.

Complete with the second malfunction using high performance ammunition. This time it was Buffalo Bore and he had the same issue - twice. Move the video to 13:25.

American Rifleman did a review. After gushing over it in the first two paragraphs, they went on to say that at 21 feet it's about as accurate as a Taurus 638 or a Ruger LC380, the trigger pull is 2 pounds heavier than advertised and that high performance ammo causes the slide to lock back with a half full magazine!

They blamed Double Tap for the failure:

"The only two events that could be noted as malfunctions occurred when firing a high-velocity, 95-grain bullet load from DoubleTap Ammunition. Operating at velocities over 1,000 fps in pocket .380s, compared to around 880 fps with typical loads, this round caused the slide to lock open twice (as if the magazine was empty) when there were still rounds left to fire. In both cases, the chamber was clear and the next round in the magazine chambered when the slide was retracted and allowed to fall forward. This is the first time I've had a semi-auto pistol go into slide lock during a test fire. But since the G42 did not lock open with any other load, it seems that the increased pressure produced by this particular round was the source of the problem."

So, be warned: "Caution: Do not use ammunition rated over 880 FPS in this firearm otherwise you may experience unexpected lock-up and failure to operate."

I guarantee that this will be a BIG problem.

Haven't seen one yet but to be honest, I'd be hard pressed to trade my BG380 for ANY other 380 regardless of brand. The BG380 just works for what I do (which is pocket carry).

I would buy one just to train folks with. I teach folks how to shoot routinely and a really soft shooting 380 has a definite place as a training gun. This would be the first step up from a 22lr semi like a S&W 41 in the program. I see it as being right before they learn how to shoot at SIG 210 which is the softest shooting 9mm I have.

Ehh?....Glock 42...It's a small .380 pistol. Been hearing about those for a month or so and for some reason or other everybody thought it was going to be a midget nine!

Well it is a midget nine...9mm short...

Anyhow...I would buy one if I was in the market for a small .380 pistol. But I'm not in the market for a .380 pistol large or small. I am however waiting for my Glock 20 SF which I hope to receive sometime this week. I want 10mm long and not 9mm short...

I fell asleep during the video. What happened at the end?;)

Like his range. Could have condensed the video to 10 minutes.

As with most of his video's they are unedited..Part of his charm is to listen to him argure with his self, just as most of us do...Draw you own conclusions, he just show's how the tools work and his impressions...

I'm done with .380s. The ammo is hard to find, over priced and under powered. You can get a 9mm the same size why would you want the .380. Way to go Glock.

Sure wish I had his backyard.
