I was lucky enough to find this SIG P220 in 10mm. I really like the weight of an all stainless pistol. I have not gotten a lot of range time with this one yet but I really like the way it shoots!
Never owned a 10mm, but I have the s/s Match Elite (5") in 45acp. The P220 in several variations made me give up on 1911's. The trigger on the Sig is not as crisp as a higher end 1911 shooting single action, but I really like a sa/da pistol. I have fired a Super Match s/a and found it to be a nice gun, so I would imagine the 10mm to be equally nice.
I have several Sigs...... while I EDC 3rd Gen 9mm Smiths...... most of my .45 needs are met with Sig 220/245s (replacing my 1911s in the late 80s/90s).... and a 229 is my only .40/.357sig.....they are great guns...... if I could only have one .45 it would be my West German 220 which will shoot cloverleafs at 50ft.
IMO a all steel/long slide 10mm would be an apex predictor.....hand cannon!!!
I have been a HUGE fan of the P220 since I first shot one back in 1977(I still own that one). I was thrilled when the 5" versions came out. Then SIG gave us the stainless 5" P220 about a decade ago. I know some folks complain about the weight, but then I have found young shooters that think anything heavier than a plastic pistol is too heavy. I grew up carrying a Government model so I am fine with the weight
Is this your first firearm chambered in 10MM Auto?
I have been a HUGE fan of the 10MM Auto cartridge since it's introduction and have done many conversions over the years, most of them Smith and Wessons. I have had a 10MM Auto P220 for 5 or 6 years now, but it is a conversion.
One day I need to add a factory 10MM Auto P220 to the Family
I agree with BAM-BAM, a long slide version of the 10MM Auto P220 would be great, 6" would be fine. I know that a X6 chambered for 10MM Auto is probably too much to ask for . I have Long Slide 1911s chambered in 10MM Auto in both 6" and 7" configurations
