I picked up this refinished 1894 at the Tulsa Wanenmacher show last April. oldguns.net says it was made 1899. Still haven't shot it.... :(

Beautiful gun and in a wonderful cartridge!! Tough to find any of those old lever guns still in nice condition that are not prices in the stratosphere. Just lovely thanks for those pictures. Enjoy

I bet your department liberated them from moonshiners. I understand the .32-20 was a favorite of our local “small-batch distillers” in the Ozark mountains back in the day. I bet the same was true with your mountain folk.

Bill and Tom, beautiful rifles.

My PD was outside of Birmingham AL :). I did see quite a number of .32-20s down in Alabama and bought a few of them.

When I joined the Elyria PD in '72, we had Marlin 336's in 30-30 Win. for our sniper rifles:eek:. Also had some M1 Carbines too.
We modernized and finally got Remington 700's in .243 Win. with heavy barrels and scopes to replace the Marlins.
I used to take my assigned Remington out to shoot Woodchucks:D.
