I surf the gun culture on the net daily, looking for quality made firearms across the shooting spectrum. A couple of months ago, I noticed that Tisas had produced a clone of the U.S.Army 1911 a1 45acp of WWII vintage. I read all of the comments on it that I could find. I was impressed and intrigued by the number of positive comments. I have owned and shot a number of Colt 1911 pistols that no longer grace my safe. I got the fever once again and bought this Tisas 45acp. I have a number of S&W revolvers in 45acp, the one in the photo is a model 1917 U.S. Army serial number 88718 in pristine condition. The gray Tisas is next and the third is a custom Auto-Ordance with mainly Colt parts.
The Tisas 1911 met all my expectations and more. The trigger pull was light and crisp right out of its case. When I picked it up at the range/gunshop the gunsmith and I compared the trigger on his custom 1911. He was impressed. The range target at 10 yards shows the head shots with the S&W compared to the lower target with the Tisas. I am very pleased with this all steel, forged pistol.
