This thread is basically un-American. The idea was suggested that we should start a thread of only keeping 10 guns from the accumulations of our lifetime.

Basic rules: Limit 10 guns, they have to exist, you don't have to currently own it. Only ONE 10 gun list a day per person, anyone could feel differently tomorrow.
I will start,

1. my personal 1911 in 45ACP
2. My current EDC< Model 49 no dash 38 Special
3. Browning Citori 725 Sporting 32" 410
4. Model 17-3 22LR
5. Kimber of Org. 82V 22 LR
6. Browning Superpose (1965) Lightning 30" 12 Ga.
7. Savage 10 BAS in 308Win
8. Weatherby Vanguard VGX (1985) 300 Win Mag
9. JM Marlin 1895 guide gun 45-70
10. Shilo Sharps 1874 45-70

Took 8 revisions to narrow it down!

Ivan

ETA, RULES CLARIFICATION: How many Uppers per AR Lower? All you want! ow many barrels per rifle, shotgun, Contender & etc.? Also all you want!

It used to be that one European nation (Belgium I think) allowed the citizens in good standing to have 3 guns. One each Rifle, Shotgun, and Handgun! This could have just been a nasty rumor.

I'm sort of cheating here because I only own 13 firearms, one of which is a duplicate in an alternate chambering and one of which I dislike, but...

4006TSW
590 Shockwave
Judge Magnum
LCP
M&P15X
M&P40c
M&P40 Shield Performance Center 1.0
PPK/S (.380 ACP)
PT-92AFS
H&K USP45 Elite

Uh-oh, now I've done it... There are multiple Smith & Wesson firearms on that list. I am officially feeling special right now. Goodnight, everyone...

There were times in my life when I was down to three, a 58 caliber flintlock smoothbore, an Ithaca 1911A1 and a Winchester 37. They handled everything I really needed to do in Ohio. Choosing 10 seems luxurious but I'll play.

1: Fox Sterlingworth (Philadelphia) 16 GA.
2: Ithaca 1911A1
3: Ruger 10/22 Takedown, stainless with suppressor.
4: S&W 10-6
5: M1 Garand
6: 20ga Flintlock SXS, French styling, not English.
7: S&W 442, no lock
8: Ruger Single Six in 32 Mag
9: Savage 110 CL, 30-06
10: Marlin 94, 32-20

Sure,

Model 1917, 45 ACP
Model 1917 Commercial
Model 1917 Brazilian Contract pre War
Model 1917 Brazilian, post war
Model 1950 Army
Model 1950, 45 ACP Target
Model 1955, 45 ACP
Model 22-4, 4”
Model 22-4, 5.5”
Model 625-6, 45 ACP

There can be more, but those ten would keep me happy.

Kevin

Suddenly I feel less special, so I'm probably safe... But you, you're callin' down the thunder on yourself, pal! Who do you think you are, making a list of 10 Smith & Wesson firearms on the Other Brands Subforum?

Interesting exercise, and also, damn you Ivan. At first blush, 10 seems like a pretty generous number to work with. Then reality raises it's ugly head. I have ALWAYS disliked having just one gun of a particular caliber/gauge, but I see on my list that the only caliber I have two of is the .22LR. Just one shotgun? Absolutely zero 5.56/.223 ARs. Only one 9mm? Preposterous!

Oh, well, here's the list. (At least I get my dearly-missed M1A1 back!)

1. Ruger M77 MKII RSI .308 Win.
2. Marlin 39A .22LR
3. Custom AR .300 Blk
4. Remington 870 Wingmaster 12ga (3 barrels)
5. Thompson M1A1 .45 ACP
6. S&W M19-1 4" .357 Mag
7. Browning Hi-Power 9mm
8. S&W K22 Target Masterpiece .22LR
9. S&W M29-2 6" Nickel .44 Mag
10. S&W .38 Combat Masterpiece 4"

One per day? Okay, working on tomorrow's list...

1. S&W Model 1955 45 ACP
2. S&W Model 66 357 Mag
3. Taurus PT 1911 45 ACP
4. Sig P365XL 9mm
5. Savage 110 (several barrels)
6. Ruger 10/22
7. Browning BPS 12 Ga
8. Ruger American 270 Win
9. Ruger Hawkeye African 375 Ruger
10.Springfield M1A 308 Win

On second thought, replace #8 with an AR-15 with seven uppers: 5.56, 7.62x39, 6mm ARC, 6.5 Grendel, 6.8 SPC, 350 Legend, and 450 Bushmaster. #8 is my favorite deer rifle, but #5 with three bolt heads can easily step up to fulfill that function with one of its many barrels: 204 Ruger, 223 Rem, 243 Win, 260 Rem, 6.5 CM, 7mm-08, 270 Win, 30-06, 7mm Rem Mag, 300 Win Mag.

I was asked a simple question, what 10 would you save. Since I have already started selling off everything else, no matter how many I end up owning, the will all be S&W, 45 ACP, revolvers.

Kevin
