Default FFL-03 Renewal

I was recently on another firearms forum and there were several
posts from members who related that their C&R Licenses were
coming up for renewal very shortly and they had not received a renewal form from the ATF

Several stated they tried calling the ATF phone number but
could never get through to a live person and were put on
hold with one person stating he was on hold for 4 hours and finally gave up.

Apparently going the ATF website did not produce any results
when trying to locate an E form for C&R renewals.

I looked up my last renewal form and it is ATF E Form 7CR, revised May 2005. Not sure if this still the current form or not.

Has anyone had a similar experience?

MODS: If this is in the wrong forum please move.

I’m not surprised they’re late on the renewal forms. I had to renew last fall. While the renewal form arrived on time for me, it took them about 7 months and a few voicemails to receive my renewal/change of address.

I renewed just a couple of months ago. They did send me an application and the renewal only took a week or so.

Mine expires August 1st… got the renewal in April, sent out the next day or so and got the new license today.

My last one was sent in similar. When I get it, I make a few copies for purchases/sales, but date/sign one for my electronic copy. Last one was dated 6/12. Appears ATF is running quicker than 3 years ago.

I renewed last year. As I recall, the form showed up about 6 weeks before expiration and the renewal was in my hand about two weeks after sending it in.

This was my experience the last two times, last year doing it recently.

Received a renewal notice about 6 weeks before mine was up. New license returned in less than 2 weeks, about a month ago.

My renewal was last Dec, and the new one arrived within about 10 days. I did receive the notice and application about 90 days prior to expiration.

The local FFL I make my purchases through has been trying since early this year to renew his license which expired EOM May. Back in April he got a letter from them apologizing and giving him a six-month extension of his existing license. They explained they are swamped and have fallen way behind.

Mine expires in July... received my renewal notice late April, sent it in and the new licensed arrived last week. No hitches... was actually quicker than the renewal time for my COE (California Certificate of Eligibility).

Renewed mine and never received a new one. Called in to check status. they were very helpful. Got it 5 days. For better or for worse, I’ve always had good luck with them on the phone. Better customer service than most businesses I’ve dealt with.
