I find my SP-2022 very easy to shoot but I admit I don't have much difficulty shooting any normal handgun (pocket 9mms, for example, can be a tad off putting, as can pocket .357s, so I just don't shoot them! YMMV).
I like traditional double action pistols. Normal triggers, no tricky little switches and so forth. Rack it, decock it, you're good to go, with a nice revolver style trigger pull for round number one. That's just me. I don't happen to like polymer pistols, either, but I talked myself into the SP-2022 because of its reasonable price, and it is a SIG, after all, and the US Army bought 5000 for the tanker personnel so I figured it can't be all bad - and it's all good!
As for shooting it, well, that's the pistol I chose to take my last CHL instructor's test with and, as most folks know, the test is fairly easy, but instructors don't pass unless they score 225 out of 250 - so there is not a lot of margin for error. Since I routinely expect to drop some points once the target gets out to 15 yards and my eyes start to "mis-see" things (I usually score 246 or 248) I admit to being completely delighted with my score of 246. So it's definitely a gun you can count on.
(I scored 250 with a 4" HB Model 10 that day on the revolver portion of the shooting test but shhhh, that doesn't count, I'm always better with a wheelgun!).....
Sidebar: As a 9mm one wonders why they named it 2022. The story I understand is that the gun is supposed to have a 20 year life span. I don't know how that was determined but that's the scoop.
That doesn't explain the "22" part of the name, either.....
Anyway, for the money, you can't go wrong with an SP-2022.
