Anyone with a Sig SP2022?

I haven't found anything bad about the Sig 2022, but before you buy one check out the Sig P320. The serialized trigger assembly is the "firearm" and you can buy various sized frames and slide assemblies without going through a FFL. The trigger pull on it is very awesome too.

Completely different gun with a completely different feel. It is an apples to oranges comparison.

Traditional DA/SA vs pre-cocked striker. The P320 is a nice gun but just a different animal. The only thing they have in common is that they are both made by Sig....

I'm a wheel gun guy so nothing to compare with sorry mate. It does have a long trigger pull. But it's going to g

40 is snappy no matter what gun you are shooting IMHO. 45 is a push. 9mm is a pop 40 is a snap.

I do not think you will have an issue if you use a solid grip and practice good trigger control. The SP2022 has a very revolver like trigger. It has a long but very smooth DA trigger that breaks cleanly and a nice SA. SA is not as short as a revolver but it is decent.

I love mine in 9mm.

Target at 15 yards.

I have one in 9mm that I picked up used on a trade and absolutely love it. It is 2nd in line for my full sized carry behind my SD9VE. It eats everything I feed it, including +P SD ammo. It is very accurate and smooth shooting. The SD9 remains my primary because I have much more practice with it, it's about 6oz. lighter than the Sig and holds 16 rounds to the Sig's 15.

I've fired the 2022 in both 9mm and .40 S&W. IMO the Sig SP2022 is the gateway Sig that leads to more Sig purchases. It's an underrated gun. As for the perceived recoil impulse of .40 S&W from the SP2022 v.s. other pistols, there is a difference. I can reacquire my target faster with a Glock 23 & 22 than with a Sig SP2022 or P226 chambered in .40 S&W. The difference is the bore axis. Because I can adapt to either pistol, it's not a deal breaker for me.

While I would like to buy a SP2022 in either 9 or .40, I'm not fond of the trigger. The SP2022 trigger is adequate, but I already own a P226 with a short reach and short reset trigger. I don't want to own a double stack Sig that I can't install those two trigger upgrades.

They work good and are nice if you like poly frames with hardened steel rails. A stronger pistolthan the alloy frameSigs that the slide rides on alloy not steel.Shouldhave longer servicelife than higher end alloy framesand no cracking.

I don't have one, but every time I shoot a friend's 2022 in 9mm, I come away impressed. Great trigger, smooth shooter, and one of the most accurate pistols I've ever shot.

You will have to look very hard to find a bad review of one, and they are a steal at around $400. One of Sigs best kept secrets.

They used to be $350 to $375 guns. They would come with night sights and 3 mags at that price. They were tripled serial numbered and assembled in Germany.

These days this is not the case. They also made a few changes like the external extractor vs internal extractor. It used to come with a better finish as well. Still a good gun and a good value just not as good as it used to be.

I got to play with a 320, and honestly was very disappointed with the trigger. Probably because of all the hype I've heard about it. Truth is, my M&P with a tuned trigger is much superior as far as trigger pull is concerned.

Really? All the ones I've tried were nice, short and crisp. Better than the PPQ. And certainly leap years ahead of S&W and Glock

^ that is my opinion too. When I first tried it, my reaction was ".....Wow!". For a few seconds I was actually speechless. Also, this is coming from somebody whose EDC is a Glock 30S with a 3 lbs trigger pull.

My next gun purchase is actually going to be a P320 compact in 9mm.

Got my 2022 in 9 a couple months back, great shooting gun, I honestly think the high bore axis debate is overblown, it is also a little heavier than comparable poly pistols. The thing is built really solid, I was quite impressed the first time removed the slide.

I did have to adjust my grip when shooting the 2022, my thumb would ride the slide lock lever and the slide locked back a couple times with rounds still in the mag, a little adjustment of my grip and the problem was solved. Accurate, great trigger and built like a tank, find one priced right and you'll love this pistol.

have one in 9mm and in my hand it is the most accurate 9mm I own..... great value for the price too
