convert s&w 547 9mm to .357

It can but I have heard mixed results. I wanted to do the same with a model 10 but remember 9mm = .355 so the barrel is going to be a bit bigger than needed which would probably affect accuracy.
I am going to get my model 10 cylinder machined to accept moon clips instead.

I wouldn't mess with a M547 to try an convert it if it were me..
357 K frames M19/65/66 are everywere & the extractor of the 547 is unique as well as it having two firing pins, one that strikes the case & one for the primer..
I suppose it could be done but why mess with a perfect 9mm revolver, Just my oppinion though..
I currently am without a 357 Mag, Sold my DW 15-2 & M19, But wouldn't think of trying to convert my M547 to 357..
And I have a small stash of 357 ammo as well..
Also as mentioned the bore size of the 547 should be .355 & trying to push a larger .356/.357 down it could be dangerous?
The dual firing pin setup is what makes me think to not try the convertion..

For a little more than the cost of the conversion, you could buy a M19. Then you have two guns!!

That's a good call..
I sold a mint M19-5 several weeks ago for $400 + S&H..
I would think that a decent shaped M547 would be worth $650-$700+..

Yes, I would slug the barrel, and go from there.
BUT, buy an extra cylinder to fit, and make that .357. Can't hurt the value that way (assuming the cylinder is long enough for 357's to begin with).
On another note, there is a heck of a lot of 9mm guns with a .357-.358 bore. Why, 9mm is .356, and that .001-.002 difference is'nt enough to make a hill of beans in accuracy for a combat/carry/production gun.
