Help with a S+W 629 with a 8 3/8''' barrel

Hi I'm buying a S+W 629 44 mag. with a 8 3/8" barrel and was wondering about the year it was made. Here is some info on it (SN AYC5xxx Product Code 103609, Special order 7271
I've been trying to searchs about it but just can't find anything. I'm not sure if it has a dash on not but I'm thinking it does. Thanks for the help guys.

your best bet would be to call customer service at S&W for dob.the number is listed on their website........

Maybe this is a dumb question, but why can't you just go to the S&W web site, enter your s/n and get a date of manufacture?

Because the S&W website doesn't publish ship dates.

Your gun dates to 1987, and would be a 629-1.

Hmm I emailed the sell and ask him what was the number next to the 629 and he said No dash just 629. And in the picture I don't see that the is barrel pined. But with that late SN you would think there would be a dash?? Here's his listing.
