Anyone compare the Hogue grip to the S&W grip? I think I will try the Hogue.

Well it looks like I missed out on another great deal. But I'd still like to know what is the difference between the S&W 4586 and the S&W 4553TSW? Could somebody enlighten me?
Thanks,
Snowdoggie
Stock S&W grip removal is detailed in this link below. Be careful with the sideplate assembly , part number 1 in the S&W diagram, when reinstalling the grip. The forked end that the pin drives through can get bent fairly easy, then the pin won't keep the forked end down, and you end up replacing the 10.00 part.
To me, it's the worse part of the design of the 3rd generation autos. What were they thinking? Driving a pin out to remove a grip?, be careful and don't bend this?, mainspring is held by the grip?, etc. The rest of the 3rd generation design is excellent, IMO.

Ditto what ALDE said, mailed (priority) my dealers FFL copy and check on 7/16 and Bud's still hadn't gotten it today, 7/24! Great service by the USPO. Derek at Bud's has been great and said he would continue to hold my pistol and look for the check and FFL. If these 45s are half what my old 1076 was then we all got great deals. Its a shame SW quit making the 3rd gen autos to compete with the Glocks/Sigs, etc., 'cause they're (the SW) are much better quality weapons IMHO.
FFL here charged me $45. No case or papers.
