Hello all,
I am hoping there is a current or former CA resident here that can give me some advice.
There is the very real potential that an opportunity at work will require that I relocate to CA for 3-4 years, and the relocation would happen in the next 6 months.
I own several firearms that the state of CA would frown on (I think), such as semi-auto handguns with greater than 10 round magazines, and one AR-style rifle (a Sig 556) with detachable magazines.
My question is, what do I do with my firearms?! Can I bring them and just keep it on the QT? Do you ever see someone at the range with a CA no-no gun? If so, what happens?
I really do not want to sell my guns since I'm returning to my home state in a few years. I also don't want to leave them behind, since in my mind that defeats the whole purpose of owning them.
On a related note, how "bad" is living in California anyway? I'm very conservative in my 2nd Amendment beliefs, but fairly libertarian otherwise. I'm just kind of worried that living in CA will drive me crazy. Or are there other normal people to be found?
Any advice will be very appreciated!
