I have a nice 3 inch model 65 that was issued to the Georgia Parole Board and a model 696 no dash that is also mint,I'm very lucky to have found both weapons at a very reasonable price.

My 3 inch 66-4 and my 66-3 f-comp with 2 digit ser# are so sweet that I sometimes think my wife is jealous,just because they sleep next to me. It doesn't get any better than that.Well maybe the19 pr and 66 2.5 , the 4 and 6 inch might get a little jealous, but a mans got to do what a mans got to do. Now if only Smith would make a lightweight 3- 66 it would be the perfect all time mate.. Well better stop there before I have to share the couch with the cat.

You guys with these 3 inchers need to put one in the For Sale forum so I can buy one! The 3 inch 686+ would be nice if I could choose. The only one's I've seen have been the ones with the IL and don't really want to go there.

I had a Mdl 64 3", I loved that revolver. My wife took it, said it was now hers. I have been looking for a replacement ever since.

I would be looking for a replacement wife too if mine took my revolver.

Love my 3" 686

I got tired of looking and had my 686-3 6" reworked. I had a 3" barrel installed, ultimate duty tune, and bead blast finish. I toyed with the idea of converting to round butt, but decided against it. I'm very pleased with the work and the gun has great balance.
