When they first came out I bought a SW1911. It was reliable, but it was not made very well. I returned it because of the safeties weren't adjusted properly.
Soon the barrel lug snapped, so I sent it back and they rebuilt the pistol. I figure they put about 300 bucks worth of parts into the pistol, but the slide was junk and they wouldn't replace the slide. There was too much loose breech in this pistol. That's why it was self destructing.
One big problem with S&W pistols is they restrict a lot of the parts, ie grip safeties, extractor etc, so if I can't work on the gun myself, it turns me off.
When the gun was returned working again. I couldn't wait to get rid of it. No regrets, I tried the gun, but mine was too loose and fragile. Plus they wouldn't send me the parts that I needed to get it working again....I MUST return it. I don't care for the parts changers @ S&W. Their guns and their loss.

Just curious, how many rounds did you put through it?

thanks,

Here's a pic of my 1911SC compliments of John, the previous owner.. I forgot how much I liked those grips.... and she shoots awsome. In fact, I'm feelings a little like it times to have a 45acp nite at the range tomorrow nite... :)

thanks,
I bought this gun in 03 or 04
After first range visit, firing pin block timing not adjusted correctly from the factory, had misfires, it was cleaned & sent back. Both safties replaced.

About 1500 rounds the barrel lug snapped.
Winchester ball and my 230 gn reloads fired.

This pistol was a lemon and never should have been sold. They tried to correct the problems by throwing parts at it. But without replacing the slide, it really wasn't repaired. I know 1911s and since they wouldn't supply me with the parts, I just solved my problem by trading it.

How come you have to vote to see the results of the poll? I voted the first time on this thread. What's the deal.

108299 and I love it. Accuracy out of the box way above my Kimber or SA loaded. Trigger, I did not even think about sending to be tuned. Almost 2000 rounds.

This is my S&W 1911. It is by far my favorite .45. I got it used at my local pawn shop for about $700. It came with box, papers and 2 extra mags

wow! that is a beautiful 1911! I want that! That was a STEAL at 700!

Yes, I own two and have a third on the way. Been toying with selling my custom colt gold cup they shoot so well.

I have a full size government model in stainless steel with the novak sights. I am thinking about getting one of the new e-series guns.

I have an early 945 Performance center model..I absolutely love this gun..feels better in my hand than my Gold Cup and slightly out shoots it..

with my reloads..one hole 5 round strings at 50'!!..Th Gold Cup does about the same but just a slightly larger hole...and this is off hand..

Got one - 108284. Would rather have the Novack fixed sights but I had to get the adjustible sights to get the ambidexterous safety. Paid $725 in my hands off of the auction sight that starts with gun...and ends in er...... I think I got a good deal on it ;)

First range session, now I don't have to bring yard stick to measure groups, just a ruler :D:
