Help with pronouncing 4006

This conversation reminds me of the time when Jethro Bodine wanted to be a "Double Naught" spy. I'd post the Youtube reference but don't want to get yet another warning :o

For the 645 say six Forty-five. With the S&W semi-autos I say the series or caliber as one number. With the 2nd gen pistols the series/caliber designator are the last two digits (39/59/69/45).

Finally, an answer. Thank you! I can get some sleep now.

I never expected so many answers. Thanks to all who responded. It seems like forty oh six is in the lead, and to me that is the most natural to say, so I believe that's what I'll go with.

forty oh six here too. Where are you getting yours from. I got mine from summit gun broker, and have been very happy with it. Mark is a great guy, good luck.

Yeah, I'm going with SGB. Never dealt with him before, but his prices are good and I've heard good things from others. I plan to order a few more mags too. $10 bucks a pop for spare mags is solid, and I'm already paying shipping...

Forty oh six... six forty-five... too bad Smith didn't make a 4007... now THAT woulda been easy - "I have a four James Bond!" or perhaps "I have a four double oh seven!"

why not say it just like you do a 1911, (One nine one one)? So, Four zero zero six.

:p Just kidding I say it like everyone else does..."One thousand nine hundred eleven" and "Four thousand six". ;)

I'm in the "Forty oh six" camp, just sounds more fluid. Besides, when I have called S&W customer service they have referred to it the same way.

Mark at SummitGunbroker is good people, I have purchased a few guns from him.
