Beautiful 66-2

Well you got it but I was going to mention I paid 272 for a 66-3 in 1989
I have to believe it doubled in 22 years to 550 or so (with box and paperwork)

:)First off I would like to thank all the great posts and info. I made a deal with him today. I'm got the pistol and the 3 full boxes of 125g hollow points for $525.00 plus 5 chickens and some produce when it's ready. :)stop laughing!:) I know it's crazy but I have a produce farm and I raise chickens. That's what we do in Northern MN. So the 66-2 is now mine and i'm hoping to put a shell or two thru it Monday. A sound off so to speak for all of our Veterans and servicemen and women. God bless our fallen heros. Enjoy your Memorial day:)

will put up some more photos later

Good for you! In my first post in this thread, I stated I thought the price was too high but, life is too short to worry over a few dollars. You made a good choice on a fantastic weapon so enjoy it!

Good Choice!

Ram,

You won't regret your decision on your snub M66. I have one and I thoroughly enjoy it. I think that you paid a very fair price. You didn't steal it, and your neighbor didn't take it in the shorts... a win-win all the way around... and, now you have a true classic on (or rather in) your hands!

Regards.

I put a few rounds thru the pistol just to see how it handled and then wiped it down and took some more photos. I can see how this model would have been a nice carry gun back in it's day. I have bigger hands than most and it fit pretty well in my hand. It balances out good too. I'm not comfortable with some of the smaller carry guns that i can't get my pinky on. I have to get bigger handled pistols or put the mag extentions on some. They print a bit more but i'm more comfortable shooting with all my fingers firmly on the handle. All in all this 66-2 is a very nice pistol....:)

Already showing off:D You got yourself a very popular Model.

If you were using .357's, how bout that flame coming out, definitely a fire hazard:D That is one you want to never sell, have fun admiring it.

The Forum will have to answer why the "F" on the cylinder face. I have no idea. "labworm"'s suggestion is good enough for me though. I did put 357's through it and it does "bark"...

Just a little note:

Be careful because the 66 is known to feel lonely without it's little brother the 60:D

Fine pieces "labworm". I will be paying more attention to the S&W line of revolvers. My local gun shop has a few used pistols and i know i have never seen a S&W revolver there. That has to say something about them....

Your in the right forum, wait until you see some of the things this crowd will show in threads.

figured out how to add the nice icons. adds a nice touch.

Congrats on a great carry piece. Had one for years just like that during LEO days.

Be careful though...now that you've tasted the fruit of the forbidden tree, you might not be able to stop at just one. :)

Meh... S&Ws get lonely for any other Smith. They do have a tendency to multiply...;)
