Look what I turned a Glock 17 into!

Seriously consider the 19 over the 17 if you have the choice. The locals have the .40 calibers and the guys who chose the big one regret it.

Hope he's not a friend of yours. Sooner or later he's gonna figure out what you did to him.

I'd probably have considered trading two Glocks for it.

A Glock for that beauty?

That is like trading Hillary Clinton for Sarah Palin!

Way to go man. Love that 629-1.

Nice trade. If you were curious about the ship date, looks like mid-1985.

Thanks for the the "Birth Date", I appreciate it!

When I get back from vacation in a week I plan to take it to work (I am a training officer and stationed full time at the training division/RANGE!) and wring it out............range report to follow.

Seriously, on the used gun market, that 629 will bring twice what the Glock sells for (with good reason, I might add).

Not my revolver, but I would hate to see you take Flitz to that 629. To me they just don't look the same when bright, and that is what Flitz will do to it, in my experience.

I owned a Glock. I sold it. It never let me down or failed to function in any way. If you just need a gun, a Glock is fine.

But, if you really appreciate beautifully designed and constructed handguns. If you want a gun so gorgeous that you'll hold it while watching TV and be happy. If you fully expect to give it to your grandson someday, with instructions to keep it in the family, then a Glock will never do what a beautiful S&W can do for you.

GOOD TRADE !!

I like Glocks, as I have a few 17, 20, 22, 26, 34, however I love 629s.

In the picture with the 629-1 on my knee, I used Mother's Mag polish to bring it to a bright stainless finish. Beautiful gun.
The other picture is a few of my 629's .... Did I say I love 629's lol.
You did excellent on your trade, you will love yours.

augy,

That first pic is the look I am shooting for and I just happen to have some Mother's Mag polish on hand! I am looking forward to developing a life long friendship with this 629-1!
