What's your Ultimate 3 Inch Carry Piece??

I carry my Model 65 three inch that I had Cylinder & Slide do some work on. Accurate and reliable with .38spl short barrel Gold Dots +Ps. Works for me....

Rule 303

Mine was a model 13 until I had the Performance Center make up a PC681 out of my standard 681 minus the quadra-porting and bead blasted finish. I like mine better than the official PC681 for those reasons. It's the big brother to the 65 but not much bigger. In fact, it's less than a quarter inch wider than the 65 (but it has a 7-round moon clipped cylinder) and only 2 oz heavier and they're the exact same height and length. That being said, I still prefer the 65 in the summer because it is slightly narrower in the cylinder which makes it just a little easier to conceal with shorts and a tee shirt. I also alternate with a 642 but that's a snubby not a 3".

Until I find the S&W 3" 65 of my dreams, I carry my 3" Ruger Sp101, it may be the perfect carry gun. Well, maybe my 2.5" 66 no dash, or...

3 inch dream

I know they dont make it, but a 3 inch model 319 would be perfect. And a 4 inch version as a trail gun would be awesome.

I have to go with my 66-3 for carry in 3" although I mostly carry the 66-1 in 2 1/2" as it carries a tad easier. The only other snub revolver I have is a 686-1 2 1/2". I love it to death but the
L frame just can't beat the K for carry.

Seeing the great guns in this thread has forced me to expand my my "gotta have" wish list! Good stuff!

The only 3" revolver I own: 625-4 .45 ACP with Combats cut down even with the bottom of the grip frame. It shoots a 250 gr. XTP at 919 FPS. If I had to own only one revolver, this would be it.

Favorite 3" Wheelgun

I like my 547, but I lust for 65 Ladysmith and feel the need for a 3" 940.

Don't know why I only posted my 3" magnum, this would be my go-to piece if I couldn't pack a commander 1911 in an urban setting.

250g cast SWC's don't bounce off much when they're moving along @ 900fps.

My idea is epitomized in this picture (although it's hard to see) of a Karl Sokol modified K frame. The end result is a 2.5" barrel with big dot sight, bobbed hammer, rounded trigger, round butt and dark finish. I don't really know what it started life as, it could be any of the fixed sight K frames and any would suit me just fine.

I carry my 629 Lew Horton Quad ported with Badger grips with Mother of Pearl insert.

My 3 inch CS-1 is my favorite. If you have one you know what I'm talking about. If you don't own one I know you want one. If I was hitting the back woods trails in bear country I'd pack along my 3 inch custom Redhawk. I won't spend any time bragging about a Ruger on a S-W sight though.

Holster

I consider my 629 Talo my ultimate 3" revolver and I often carry it. I sent it in for a master revolver action package and an extreme duty rear sight.

Which holster(s) do you use? I have one on the way, but I have not researched holsters yet. I would really appreciate a head start on that.

Okay, Call Me Naive, but...

I know I've led a sheltered existence, and haven't had the exposure
to bad stuff that most have, but I'm pretty happy with the 442/642guns in 2", at least, until I got a Mod. 36 3". It's a great piece, so I'm
thinking a 3" 642 would do it for me. Light enough for extended carry, with longer sight radius. I'm satisfied with 38 Spl, and going +P
would be perfect enough, IMO. TACC1
