OK, bought a new SW9VE and took it to the range a week ago. The fired cartridge envelope says the "test round" was shot in June 2011. So pretty new.

Shot around 150-170 rounds (yes, I cleaned it before I took it to the range). On the last 4 or 5 magazines, the slide did not always lock back after the last round. A friend shot it as well and it did the same thing to him on one mag. (16 round mags).

Other than that, the pistol performed beautifully, couldn't be happier.

Got home and cleaned it then did a little searching on the net and found various posts with the same thing, but all indicated it worked itself out.

I called S&W today and they said since it was both mags, they want the gun sent to them on their dime to take a look and a prepaid label for Fed Ex on the way.

I am asking opinions now; what would you do? Any Sigma owners with a similar experience on the slide?

Thanks in advance.

I had it happen to me once....figured out it was my grip and I was inadvertently releasing the slide as it came back. I had it happen to a friend who was using the gun for his qualification. bad grip, too low the handle and weak...sometimes its the gun, sometimes the grip....but when I had the problem it was only once not consistent...so sending it back was probably a good idea

I would send them the gun and let them check it out...

I'd send it back, there's a good chance you'll prob. get a couple of free mags back.
