1935 RMw/Brown Stocks...Shootin' & Huntin' Pics

I love nothing more than to see Keith Brown grips made for a great gun. His grips are unequaled. I hope to be able to acquire a set some day, but I would have to get a "special" gun to put them on.

I beleive this gun of your definitely qualifies. Tell us more about your RM. Thanks again for showing us this great package.

Sir,
She's a first year production...Reg. No. 141, been back to the factory sometime in the fifties.
Had her barrel cut back to a handier length.
Ended up in my remuda earning an honest living :D

Su Amigo,
Dave

Lovely... got another set being made (Coke-style targets) for a nice 25-2. Here's the first set Keith made for me on my non-registered magnum:

Heres a side by side so to speak.. Original,Mr. Brown's and Original Mr. Roper's..

Mr. Brown is REALLY GOOD

OK, it'll either be ridiculous, blasphemous, or a really 'way cool great idea. How about a custom set of I-frame grips a la the old round-to-square Regulation Police idea only as mini-Cokes? I could see them on a Heavy Frame Target .22 or a .32 HE Adjustable instead of the Beaks or RPs as a way to really enjoy shooting that kind of classic revolver with an anomalous but also classic grip to alleviate what many perceive as the one "short"coming of the "I's" that some of us love so much.

I think that's got to be the nicest RM I have seen in a very long time, and I really like the fact that she got to go out and get some range time. They were meant to be shot.

Hello Dave
Keith makes some pretty fine Recreations as far as his Roper's go and some Dandy S&W Factory stocks as well.;) I located a set of Original Roper's at a small gun show in my area a few years ago. The vendor had these on a Model 27-2 with an 8-3/8" Barrel. I asked to see the gun and as he handed it to me he asked if I needed it ? I told him I was Interested more in the stocks than the gun, and he said he felt it was Not selling good as the stocks were not original, and he wished he had an Original set of S&W Target stocks to place on it. I Pulled a set of football shape relived stocks from my pocket and he said "That's Exactly what I am looking for, How will you trade" ? I told him even up and was very pleased to land the set of Roper's shown on my 1935 Registered Magnum below. The Gun Lettered with Factory Magnas and you know how Pre-War Magna's can be to find, almost like a needle in a Haystack. :( I finally found a nice set and it is wearing them now for show but I still Place the much more comfortable Roper stock's on it to shoot it. Nothing like Roper's for fit and feel... Hammerdown

Here's a little sidebar, especially for Dave, Iggy, Steven and Wyo. Just so's you guys know there is another RED RIVER. Your country and mine look a lot alike.

Turn on your speakers and go full screen and enjoy the scenery by the Texas State Photographer.
