I like about everyone else reading this post am constantly checking out clothing for conceal carry applications. I am looking for Long Tails, Inside Pockets that will hold a Pocket Holster, Long Tailed Shirts that can be worn as a shirt jacket. Regular shirt jackets. Shirts with long tails designed to be warn untucked. Long loose tee shirts, long tail wind breakers, etc. I have an eye towards quality, and also garments that do not shout " I Am Carrying". I do not wear a "Shoot Me First Vest" much.

The wife handed me a Duluth Trading Catalog earlier today. I proceeded to look through it end to end. I am impressed with what I saw.

They have several long tailed jackets and vests. Several styles, and colors. All looked good.
Every Day work shirt looks to have potential.
We have what they call a Presentation Jacket. Kind of a casual wear suit coat style jacket.
The Hanger Bender (Fire Hose Shirt-Jack)
Long Tail Flannel Shirts
Long Tail Flannel Shirt-Jack.
Tee Shirts to prevent Plumbers Butt. Three Inches of extra shirt tail. Long & Short Sleeve, Pocket or No Pocket versions.

Most everything listed looked long enough to cover a 4" Revolver worn in a Pancake holster. This catalog had more garments of hi quality, that looked suitable for conceal carry than any other catalog I have ever looked at. None of it was designed as a conceal carry garment, just practical clothing.

I about forgot something important. Duluth Trading does not seem to have a problem with X Rated garments either. Most everything I looked at went up to either 3X or 4X, also Talls.

They also have all kinds of hats, gloves, jeans, boots, shoes and a great looking Bison hide moccasin. I saw a handy tool for us tinkerers, a Wire Bending Manderal for around $7.00. It bends Squares, Dee's, S hooks, etc.
Would you believe Lincoln Logs, Metal Slinky, Gyroscope, a toy glider, and a rubber band powered version. How about Fiddlesticks in a canvas storage bag. The list goes on and on.
Lots of stuff suitable for christmas gifts.

This catalog is worth a look.

I've been a customer of Duluth Trading for years now.

They also have some "old-timey" salves & ointments that when I first got them my wife wouldn't even look at them. After getting her to try them she became a firm believer that sometimes newer isn't always better.

Deluth Trading

Hi there,
Just wanted to tell you, I have been a customer of Deluth for several years now and they are great. Their products are terrific and their customer service is second to none. Would reccomend them to all.

I've been using their long tail t-shirts for concealed carry for a couple years. I get them one size larger so they wear a little loose and prevent printing. I have one of their jackets, a hat, and a wallet and have been happy with all of them.

Duluth has several items that work well for concealed carry, and any company that uses angry beavers as a marketing strategy is alright by me.:D I don't really do IWB unless I have to, and have found that even though I'm not really all that tall, I need a tall in tshirts to accomodate my long torso for carrying OWB.

When the weather cools and a tshirt isn't quite enough and a jacket or fleece would be too much, I like to wear short sleeve button up shirts and have found the Dickies brand to work well for concealing a full size pistol (M&P9) OWB. They are a bit longer than other brands which serve you well in concealing a pistol.

I received some hand-me-down 5.11 covert casual shirts or whatever they're called and while they seem to be nice shirts, they aren't worth the $50 price tag.

In my experience, the clothing lines that claim to be designed around concealed carry seem to give that "trying to be tactical" appearance which is something I avoid like the bubonic plague, while companies like Duluth Trading, Carhartt, Dickies etc all provide products that suit my needs in clothing for concealed carry that are casual without looking like a SWAT team member.

Thanks for the thread and the testimonials. I just started seeing their TV commercials in the last week or two and was wondering about their quality. Had never heard the name before. Guess I'll need to visit their website. Any place that has carries tall sizes and goes to 4XL needs my support.

I don't see mentioned jean jackets and jean vest in post about conceal carry apparel. Enormous inside pockets that hold a J frame very easily and can even accommodate one of those pocket holster intended for the big front pockets of some jeans.

I don't know the Duluth Trading Company but you can bet I'll be checking it out. Thanks.

Specking of jean jackets. NRA sells one set up for CC in their store.

My old one was getting pretty ratty. So, I got a "free shipping" offer last week so I ordered one up.

Time will tell how well it "suits"

I have one of the NRA jackets also and like it. The inside pockets have a moisture proof lining that is good, seems a bit stiffer than the Levi jean product, probably because of the inside pockets being moisture proof, but it will probably soften up.

Speaking of Jean Jackets, what ever happened to the Blue Jean Ranch Jacket. I had a Levi one about 30 years ago, and I do not think I have seen one in a store since. The one I am talking about came down to the bottom of your back pocket. Mine had an imitation shearling lining.
I nice blanket lining or unlined would be good also.

I ordered a Woolrich Barn Jacket a couple days ago. It looked like the length would be about right. I may have a holster pocket sewn in the inside of it anyway. I will just have to look it over when I get it.

I have been looking for a Jac Shirt that really tripped my trigger for quite some time. Well I found it today in Rolla Missouri at the Farm Store.

It was a Carhartt "Mens Canvas Jac Shirt" Style S296.

Look under Mens, then in Shirts.

The wife picked up one for my brother and a second one for me for Christmas.

Nice long tail, not to heavily insulated, and stiff enough not to print.

You can cover a 4" N Frame carried at 4 O'Clock in a Pancake holster with no problem at all.

I've been carrying this lately. No problem concealing under a sport coat:

All seriousness aside, I've been a Duluth customer for several years. Great products, great people with whom to do business. Their catalog leaves much to be desired, in terms of actually SEEING what the products look like, but once you've seen their quality, that problem fades some. My only complaints about their clothing have been that many styles are larger than the size indicates, and some of the fabrics are heavier than they need to be. Hell for tough, though.

Someone mentioned their non-clothing products; I buy quite a lot of those, as well. Their "No Crack" hand cream is the best I've found for my winter-dry, cracked hands, and my son-in-law, who is a rancher, loves it. I buy lots of stocking-stuffers for my sons there, too.

When I first started carrying, I was very concerned about dressing for carry. As I got older I started carrying my 2" chief's in a DeSantis pocket holster called The Nemesis. That is the way I carry about 75% of the time now days, and I never need to concern myself with what I am wearing. It even works well with shorts.

When I am wearing a sweat shirt or "out of the pants" type of shirt, my Kramer Horsehide Belt Scabbard gets the job, but I no longer am relegated to one type of dress style with the pocket holster. The Jeans I wear most days are of the relaxed fit style, so there is a nice loose, deep front pocket in them. I usually buy my Jeans from LL Bean, and their Jeans have larger pockets than the run of the mill Levis, Wranglers or Lees do.

NRA Jacket Arrived - Nice But Too Small

Just received my NRA CC jacket. Exceptional quality and - get this: MADE IN USA. :)

Bad news is that I followed their sizing chart.
I wear a size 44 jacket. They say that's medium - NOT - so its gotta go back.

Fair warning if anyone is considering one - go large!

I got my order in from botach.com. They have a clearance sale going on certain Woolrich Elite Tactical clothing.

I ordered a Woolrich Barn Jacket, Close out priced at just under $30.
Pockets:
It has Lower patch pockets that are 8" wide X 8.5" deep. With a flap over the top held by velcro, you can tuck the flap in the pocket for easy access.
Behind the patch pockets you have a zipper pocket.
Above the patch pockets is a very generous hand warmer pocket.
It has high inner pockets on the inside. This pocket is doubled. The back holds my Nemisis pocket holster and J Frame S&W just fine. Over that pocket is a dual magazine/ Speed Strip pocket. A little deep for 8 round speed strips, but they will work ok for that purpose. Same set up on each side, so it is Left hand friendly. J Frame back up gun one side and handcuff on the other for the LE guys.
Lower inside pockets are the slash type 8" wide X 12" to the top, on both sides. Probably a good place to stash a pair of gloves.

Length:
It comes down to the very bottom of your back pants pocket.
It will cover a 4" N Frame in a pancake holster, with about 3" -4" of coat tail below the holster.

Color: Charcoal, Brown, Moss.
I got mine in Moss, and ordered my brother one for Christmas in Brown.

The Outer patch pockets have 3 Elastic pistol magazine loops on the back side. Both sides.
Fully loaded up you have available magazine storage for 10 spare magazines counting the inner pouches. EDIT: I found 4 more Magazine Loops, 2 in each pocket the J Frame would fit in. New Total 14 places for magazines.

Construction is 2 ply cotton canvas from the look. Light enough weight for 3 season wear. Mine is large enough to add a Carhart zipper sweat shirt under it, and probably a vest would fit also.

The only thing I have found that I do not like is the "Made in China Tag"

So far it looks to be a great product, even if it were not on sale.

Instructor Shirts:
I also picked up a couple zipper front short sleeve Instructor shirts. I washed them up today and they look very good. Well worth around the $18 Clearance Price.

4 Pocket Concealed Carry Shirt:
Next was a selection of the Elite Tactical 4 pocket descrete carry shirts. This is a Guyrabera style shirt with a 2 color break up pattern. I wore one out this evening carrying my 310 Night Guard in a Lobo Enhanced Pancake. It has plenty of shirt tail under the bottom of the holster. Worked great for concealed carry. Clearance price around $18.
Issue: I washed and dryed them today. Looks like they may want to wrinkel if you are not careful getting them out of the dryer at the exact right time.
Time will tell how they hold up.

Carry Clothing for Women

Even tougher for us girls...I wear dress clothes 5 days a week and don't really see and option to carry on my body without being incredibly obvious. Looks like I have to resort to the purse.
