anyone carrying a ruger LCP???

I am getting one in February. I carry a glock 27 and a 642 as a BUG. I retired from NYPD in 1988 and I wish that something like the LCP was available when I was on the job as it would have made a nice third hideout (think Onionfield) BUG.

Mine's under 6 lbs from the factory. I don't know what you're used to in a factory hideout gun (we're not talking target rifle here ;) ), but that's light, amigo. :) It's long, but it's light for what it is.

You are right...for some reason, my brain translated "light" to "short" when I was reading or responding. :o

I am not responsible for my brain...it does its own thing frequently, and there is very often a disconnect between my brain, my mouth, and/or my typing finger.

I have learned over time to wear tasty shoes...

Me, too, amigo! :D

Ain't we all!! BTW Erich I like that little belt clip on your LCP :)

In other new; His Excellency Mr. Barner seems to have left the thread. Last I saw of him he was delighted with his new LCP so he may be at home cuddling with it :)

Regarding ammunition for the LCP what are you carrying in yours? I prefer Speer gold dots in my G27 and 642. Thanks in advance. Steve

I carry mine with Double Tap 95-gr hardball, which does about 985 fps from my LCP. S&B 92-gr ball does a weensy bit faster - I doubt anyone could tell the difference between the two.

When I get one it's going to get the S&B ball for carry.

I picked up a LCP a couple of months ago. I've had one FTE out of 100 rounds and have been carrying it for a couple of weeks. I like it. Recoil is no worse than any of my J-frames. Seems accurate enough for a pocket auto. Carry a spare mag in the other pocket.

pete, as jessie stated i've been at home cuddling with my new LCP. fit and function seem flawless. between grandkids and rain i haven't been able to get out with it yet. i'm hoping to soon if it dries up enough where i go shoot. i really like the size and feel of it. already got a wallet holster for it and have been carrying it in that around the house to get used to it. lee

Just picked up one of these 3 days ago. Havent shot it yet, but i scrubbed all the cosmoline off of her today. Really like the size and feel of it, sights are a little small though. Need to find a decent IWB holster for it! Cant wait to put some rounds through it!

sights????? your's has sights? is that what those little bumps are? with my bifocals on, if i tilt my head back just right i can sort of see them. for a pocket .380 i don't think sights are even necessary. i'm thinking of a bright orange strip down the middle of the slide. lee

I carry S&B FMJ Ball in my LCP. I figure that with such a short barrel it won't expand and I'd rather have the reliability and penetration of FMJ.

I have had mine for well over a year now. I find it accurate for its intended purpose and easy to CCW. As others I have said, though, it is not a fun gun to shoot. While I carry it often, I probably only practice with it the bare minimum to maintain some level of proficiency. I carry with Gold Dots.

Since there is no LIKE button (yet :))... I LIKE THIS and find it to be true for myself. :D
