The gun could be Overlubed. Causing the extractor to not extract the spent casing all the way. THen the ejector may be too lubed and slipping. Just a thought
thank you guys for the fast replies. i have bad stovepiping problems with the federals. about every 6 to 10 rounds i will have a stovepipe. the federals are the only ammo i have shot through it and the weapon is cleaned very well with little oil, mostly dry lube. i dont what the problem is. what do you guys think?
I have one question for you . When you are firing the 15-22 have you checked to see if the bcg is fully seated before you fire and if it isnt is that the time your getting the stovepipes?
Respectfully, the firearm in question is an M&P 15-22 rifle, not a pistol.I'm not familiar with this particular pistol, but I once did a "fire 'til failure" test with a Ruger Mark I, and found that after thousands of rounds without cleaning, the first and only failures were extraction/ejection issues. Without cleaning or lubing anything else, I used a toothpick or similar implement to pick and scrape the significant accumulation of crud (the technical term...) out of the extractor notch in the breech face, and this solved the problem. The pistol continued to run for thousands more rounds with no more maintenance than this... I eventually felt guilty, and gave the gun a thorough cleaning and proper lubrication. You might pay attention to this easily overlooked maintenance issue...

Oh, sorry, my mistake. However, I think my remark is nonetheless valid, as it makes no difference, rifle or pistol, as to the possible problem and its remedy...
i switched to cci blazer about 2000 rounds ago and never looked back, now i never had any ftf or fte problems with the federals but the cci balzer are so dam accurate and on sale at dunhams all the time, pghrich
Hey guys I wanted to give you an update on the weapon. I went to the range yesterday afternoon and ran CCI mini mag's and some winchester Super X through the gun.
I tried everything I could do to get a Malfunction with this ammo and it chewed it up. Mag Dumps were not a problem.
I then loaded just five rounds of the federal bulk in the weapon and the second shot stovepiped. I cleared the jam and then the fourth shot stovepiped. I am guessing just some bad ammo or my gun just really hates this stuff.
Anyways thanks again guys on all the comments and the help. I have realized I am part of a great community and really appreciate everything.
See you next time.
Thanks again
Chris
