I am talking configuration, not Calibre...
I am a big fan of handguns with adjustable sights.
However I have been using a S&W Bodyguard since 1972 and it has shot great, I have killed rabbits and snakes withh it ans I have qualified 100% on my Depts qual course, that included shots at 25 yards.
For quite a while I have debated getting a S&W 44 Mag Snubbie.
I was torn between fixed sights and Adj sights...
Then I got a S&W 325 NG in 45 ACP. It has a large front glow in the dark sight and the Cyllinder and slide rear sight, that is well rounded, and non snagging.
I like the fact that there are no sharp edges in this revolver, AND that the "fixed" sights are BIG and easy to pick up, day or night.
I have carried and shot this gun a lot, I handle it every day, as I keep it under my pillow every night, I have carried it in my front pants pocket, and in coat/vest pockets as well as a holster.
I am thinking that the sights on the Night Guard Series of Revolvers just might be the best choice for all round use on an N Frame Snubby.
Especially if you carry it in places other than a belt holster.
As I under stand it the Cylinder and Slide rear sight is a drop in replacement for the standard S&W adj sight.
Also when it comes to a 41 or a 44 Mag Snubbie, is the Scandium frame or a steel frame the best overall choice???
Personally I find the 325 NG ok to shoot with full power 230gr and 185gr +p ammo. I love its light weight.
I will also say that the 4" 329 with full power 44 Mag ammo is Brutal.
I think it is too much [ie to light] of a good thing...
If a person really plans on needing to shoot full power loads in his 41/44Magnum Snubby, a steel frame gun might be a better choice...
Just some Random Thoughts...
