Beretta 92 9mm trigger pull ?

I bought a 92FS a couple weeks ago and I just don't see any need whatsoever to change anything about the trigger. It's smooth as silk and breaks like glass. One of my favorite pistols right now!

A common fix for a heavy trigger pull on the Beretta 92 is to substitute a 1911 mainspring for the one in the 92. Should lighten both DA and SA letoff noticeably.

I remember reading years ago in either Guns and Ammo, Handguns or American Rifleman that this was a trick the U. S. Army pistol team used when they first transitioned to the Beretta. According to the writer, the Army swore by it and Beretta swore at it. :D

The D spring is the way to go. With it, the DA pull is around 8.5 and the SA is around 4.5.

I have about 4k rounds thru my carry 92, so it's a little lighter.

The round you shoot CAN make a difference. I can shoot 115gr FMJ and it hits perfectly where I want. But 115 JHP Critical Defense will shoot about 2 inches low. For defensive rounds, my nine 92s like 124gr JHP.

Do realize that the 92fS does not use a 6 o clock hold for the sight picture.

Use sight picture #3 for the Beretta (this is commonly the solution for people who do not realize that you need sight picture #3)

It's still timely. I love my Beretta M-92FS, and my son used the M-9 very successfully in Iraq. Succesfully as in six enemy KIA with it. He did have to shoot several more than once, but they were moving targets and the first shot didn't hit a vital zone.

I think the OP is asking too much of ANY service type auto to give a SA trigger pull like an S&W revolver has!

Try the sight pictures above and use Speer's Gold Dot 124 grain load or Federal's HST or Hydra-Shok ammo and I think the gun will serve you well, once you adapt to it and steady down and learn to pull a heavier auto trigger.

I put adjustable rear sights on my 92FS Centurion that I bought just before the ban went into effect and while legal 15 round mags came with the gun. I normally shoot 115gr ammo and the adjustable sight allowed me to shoot the ammo that I have with the sight picture that I am accustomed to.

I also did the adjustable sight for my 92fs. Made a world of difference and not at all expensive. Worth doing in my book. Frank
