My stupid state...

Plastic bags take like a gazillion years to degrade. I'm trying to patent mine. I think they will degrade in about 30 years if conditions are right.
I need more money for research. Your donations could save the planet. Your grandchildren will thank us.

Plastic bags left to the weather will deteriate in about 10 to 15 years. Buried they will last as long as anything else, - until an archeologist digs them up and declares the people of that era were so intelligent they used plastic!

John:)

I thought New Jersey had the densest population,I guess I was wrong.Everybody knows the states with the most folks know what's best for everybody else.

There goes my plan. :D:D:D

Oh, I just had another idea. This time I ain't telling. ;)

Home Depot had these reusable bags for pretty cheap that had plastic clasping handles. The handles grab the sides of the cart. You just set them in the cart and when you roll up to the front, empty the cart onto the conveyer belt, stretch the bags open across the cart so they are held open, the bagger fills them, roll out to the car, pop the handles loose, lock them, set the now closed bags in the trunk, badda bing. But now I actually have to buy bathroom trash bags...

Austin TX already banned them. I'm glad they kicked me out of that city. Give me good 'ol ugly Houston anytime.

I've about decided that idiots are everywhere. One by himself is pretty harmless. It is when you concentrate a bunch of them, like in L.A. or New York, you have big problems.

I was gonna say: "Stupid compared to?"... but, alas I see...you are indeed a citizen of the poster child state for stupid states. :)

I never liked plastic bags anyway. It took 6 plastic bags to carry what 3 papper bags can. My wife started using the cloth tote bags??? I must say I like them better than paper bags now. I'm the designated Mule and I can get a weeks grocery carried in with one trip (just the two of us).

I understand some companies are starting to make bags from Corn husks. They are Bio-Degradable and opening up some new US jobs. Also giving farmers another opportunity to make some $$$.

One less demand on Oil is a good thing (plastic from petro chemicals)

Sam's Club does not provide bags. You can get an empty box if you need a container. It just takes a bit longer to put things in the car with no bags. Plastic bags are a pain anyway.

Some are recommending cloth reusable bags but there some bacteria issues with them if they can not be washed or are not washed.

What I do is let my wife do the shopping so getting the stuff in the house is her problem.

They tried that in Oregon also. Safeway sent me a cotton carry bag. Made in China, stitching wore out in 2 weeks, handles pulled out & I threw it away. So now have a box in the garage full of plastic bags to return to Safeway when I get around to it. So much for Green Ideas.
