how about a 44 magnum show

DSCN5097.JPG

That is JUST like the one that lives under my pillow. I love these guns. If you can whack up the nerve to let fly with full power Remington .44 Mags this huge blue flame jumps about a foot out of the barrel and it thunders like a cannon. Excellent guns. Too bad S&W doesn't make them regularly.

Tek4260, looking at your hawglegs is making my left thumb get all twitchey ....lol

Dale53, hows that new PC gun shoot, I've been looking at one of those to use for this falls freezer filler

I am not a particular fan of ported guns. However, there is no doubt that it reduces muzzle rise and makes this a more pleasant outfit. It shoots as expected (I can keep most shots on a playing card at 100 yards from a rest).

My standard practice load is a home cast 250 gr Keith bullet (Mihec clone of the H&G #503 ahead of 23.0 grs of H110. My hunting load is 24.0 grs of H110. I have taken several head of corn fed whitetail deer with these loads.

What a great thread.
I can't tell you how many of these I have searched the past couple of years.

I like the other calibers also but spend the majority of my time fiddling with the .44 Magnum. Whether it be reloading, cleaning, shooting, buying or selling, you name it, the majority of my 'gun' time is spent with the .44 Magnum.

Nice! Who is the maker of the LSWC gas check bullet in the photo?

Thanks! If you mean the Hunter, it'll shoot anything well. Some better than others of course, but for example, last time I had it out I was shooting with Peppercorn, and we had some over-crimped handloads that were stripping jackets. We were still putting them through one hole at 20 yds. ;) I've heard that the barrels for these were made by Walther, but I don't know if that is true. It is a very accurate revolver, that I do know!

The PC snub is a flamethrower, of course- but the ports work, and I don't stoke it with wrist-breakers anyway. Just a nice shooting gun, for a snub.

Boy, now I'm thinking I better go down to the basement and load some 44!

Sorry about that, yes I was referring to the light hunter, have you benched it at 100, I'm looking for a new deer gun something scope ready and from the PC line, I'm leaning towards that two toned one with the red dot
