Letter sent to Obama on UN gun treaty

If given the opportunity, yes.

That's why it's so important for the NRA and other other thoughtful Americans to stay on top of this administration and their gun-grabbing pals in Congress. As quoted in the link I provided you earlier, gun-grabbers are "petrified" of the NRA. You should read that link. It's a good illustration of why gun control has been stifled. It's not because gun-grabbers in Washington have changed their stripes. Give them an inch, and they'll take your guns. Join the NRA. Just say no to the treaty.
At what point, if guns are not grabbed do gun grabbers cease to be gun grabbers? If I am labeled a cookie grabber, yet have not, for years grabbed any cookies, for whatever reason, am I still a cookie grabber?*

*For this example "Cookie" replaced a rear part of the female anatomy which, due to marriage I am no longer allowed to sample.

Join the NRA. Just say no to the treaty.
As for the treaty...I will await the final draft before making up my mind. If it is as the working drafts suggest, I see nothing that affects US gun ownership. If that changes, so will I.

As for the NRA...hold one while I grab my flak jacket, I am fundamentally opposed to ALL lobbying and PAC organizations, whether they be banking and finance, oil and energy, environmental, healthcare, insurance, or any other group that buys access to our democratic system. I firmly believe that system of lobbyists is killing our Republic as our Congresscritters vote based on who has their ear or their purse, not what is best for the country.

To that end I am not a member of any organization that lobbies, even for issues that I feel important and good. If they are important, those who find them important should be the lobbyists, not paid folks en masse. That principle is extremely important to me.

It seems that I remember a post by you several months back about being unfairly pulled over on a trip from Kentucky to , was it New York. If I recall you attributed this to. Your appearance or some such. As I recall your were more than perturbed over this event. I believe your rights were infringed as you put it. I just hope I don't have toexperience any infringement on the rights of our second amendment because of like minded "enforcers" in pale blue helmets or any color of helmet.

Regards

Bill

Exactly, Romney is just as likely to legalize polygamy and ban guns

Every politician is anti-gun despite what they may say. Pretty much all law enforcement are too.

They all believe in only a select few (the rich, powerful, and law enforcement elite) owning guns because an armed population is a threat to their existance

Look at what happened in NOLA

"EVERY politican is anti gun"
"pretty much all law enforcement are too"
just curious....where is your documentation to support your rather foolish statement?maybe EVERYONE in tampa fl.is anti-gun?.....no...i have no supporting documentation for such a statement...just as you do not

OHHH man, nipster, I am from born and raised in New Orleans. I doubt you really understand all of the circumstances with Katrina.

Maybe *I* don't understand either. Fill me in on the cops that killed the guy on the bridge...

Oh... and then fill me in on the ones who about beat the old lady to take away her 22 rifle.

Let me know also about the trucks of aid they turned away.
Thanks.

I can give you some more too if you like.

Cmon.... you don't know what Romney said about guns before?

And Bush saying he would reinstate the assault weapon ban if they put it on his desk?

You REALLY think they would leave us all armed if they had the choice?

I guess we have no more need for the NRA then, correct?

Never particularly perturbed or even that my rights were infringed. Just odd being profiled.

But I certainly don't worry about the blue helmets. We have this cool constitution that is really strong and my only worry is that some folks don't trust it to work. I do.

Show me that video with the guy wearing a blue ball cap instead of green! Then I'll believe it... maybe. There was also some suspicious static at about 31 seconds...

It's a conspiracy I tell ya :D

You mean the statement the BRADY FOUNDATION said he said...

This whole UN treaty thing and "obama is gonna take our guns" nonsense is complete FUD and honestly, if they are going to lock threads about politics and zimmerman, they should lock every one of these too, because they are utterly factless

Point is, Obama's first term is almost up and he has directly said nothing on gun control, not one thing. And there is no reason to believe he will ever do anything to do any arms control...

But the NRA dont like him, so they make stuff up. Sometimes I am embarrassed to be a member of the NRA. Like him or not, he's the president. Show the guy just 1 little bit of respect, and dont make stuff up to further your own political gains.

get obama in office again and see just what he does do regarding gun control....he's not stupid enough to risk being elected for a second term.....i find your statement above curious "the nra don't like him,so they make stuff up"

Do you have inside information of which others are unaware? A copy of the Liberal Gun Grabber Handbook [LGGH]?

What do you have that is factual? Hard evidence? "The sky is falling, any day now" is not based on fact.

Good thing we don't have 8 more Ginzburgs on the SCOTUS:

I would not look to the U.S. Constitution, if I were drafting a Constitution in the year 2012.

I'd be curious to know if you consider the NFA, GCA and the AWB an infringement on the right to keep and bear arms. I do. Do you? I'm not asking if you "like" or not, as you answered before, I'm asking if you believe them to be an infringement.

Do you have inside information of which others are unaware?

Who doesn't know that this President has said he'll exploit the space and flexibility of a second term to get things done that he can't do now? Just ask Russian President Medvedev.

It's curious that you criticize folks for sounding alarm bells, when it's the alarm bells that help keep the 'congress critters' and this administration in fear of moving forward with gun control. Do not think for a moment their minds have changed. Gun-grabbing is a disorder that is never fully cured.

Ok, so we have determined:
1. they have not done anything anti-gun in the 3 and a half years in office
2. they wont do anything anti-gun (for reasons of "fear of the NRA" or "fear of the cookie monster" or whatever)
3. some spurned politik types with questionable motives and agendas are not very good at putting rhetoric or edited videos on youtube which may or may not even be about gun control
4. fast and furious is bad... but it's ok that Bush started it?!?

So can we stop with these types of threads which serve no purpose other than to allow the anti-obama or anti-democrat types to whip themselves into a rhetoric induced fury every few days??

Fact is, there is no reason to believe this administration will do anything to restrict gun control. And regardless of the administrations beliefs, intents, or whatever, they dont have the numbers in congress to actually ACT on any of it, making it a moot point...

So enough already

You don't like Omaba, we get it, you will vote for Romney, we get it...

Yea... sure. It's a 50/50. Just like the Republican candidate.

i find your statement above curious "the nra don't like him,so they make stuff up"

Not sure why you find that so hard to believe

At the end of the day, the NRA exists for one purpose, to make money. They make a lot more money spreading anti-gun fear than they do otherwise. It's pretty much the template of every charity.

The NRA does good stuff, and I am a member, but at the end of the day, i'm not naive. They have their agendas, political and otherwise, just like all the other charities out there.

After all this, you still haven't determined whether or not the President and Holder were speaking about gun control in the vids posted here?

It wasn't either of them it was someone wearing masks. And they didn't really say what we thought they said, 2 seconds of audio was missing.

I don't see where anyone is forced to read, participate or respond to any thread, I checked the rules.

Many of their statements were rather vague. I still haven't been able to determine what the heck Holder was talking about below. Any ideas?

"Well, as President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make, and among them would be to reinstitute the ban on the sale of assault weapons."
