Is this a red flag on a 18-3?

I'm looking at buying this 18-3. The serial # on the frame is 1K8xxx and 7xxxx on cylinder arm? Cylinder arm serial is also marked with G1.

I'm very new to this. I just thought something is different. I'm looking to get this revolver as a shooter.

Thanks

No, nothing's wrong. The SN will be on the butt, & on the frame when you open the cylinder. The rest are assembly numbers & mean nothing.

If you don't mind me asking, what does the seller want for it?
The M18-3 .22 Combat Masterpiece is a nice revolver. They are very collectable and a lot of fun to shoot. I'll never sell mine.:D

The Model 18 is a very sought after revolver and if you want a fun revolver to shoot a bunch with low cost ammo it would be a winner. I have a 18-3 and a 18-4 and I wouldn't part with either of them.

Just as a matter of interest, my 18-3 had a functional but slightly damaged ejector rod. I called Smith&Wesson and they sent me a replacement at no cost. Any yes, it is great fun to shoot.

$500 buy it now got sold when I wasn't looking when he reduced the buy it now to $450. It did have a small scratch on the cylinder.

It took me a year to find a really nice 18-4 for a reasonable price. Until I bought it, it had been unfired. They really are nice shooters.

Never seen a older one in real nice shape locally, the few I've seen look like they were dragged behind a sled through an Arctic winter. Then, the price they still want for them make them unreasonable purchases. [We're talking 7-800 bucks for a beat up 50% [if lucky] finish revolver] I'm guessing most of them used to be dragged around while fur trapping years ago.
