Would you shoot this coyote?

Every chance I get . . . including this one who tried sneaking past me last fall! Dropped him in his tracks with the .44 magnum @ 40 yards.

Hate those things and how they can impact our deer population!!!

Very adaptable critters. I believe with the cockroaches
these things will be all that's left alive after the next world
war ends.
That said, if i ever get a safe shot at any Yote' it is
history. Like Drew said, they decimate alot of game animals
and domestic pets are on the menu as well.
I grew up hunting groundhogs around here as a kid,
now i rarely see one and when i do unless it's under
a barn foundation it gets a pass. The Yotes have all
but killed them off around us.

I would have gone out on the porch in my wheelchair and screamed and yelled very loudly at the coyote until it ran away.

If it were to keep coming up the drive away i would have grabbed my Grandpa's 12 gauge shotgun and borrowed some shells from him then i would have shot the coyote.

Coyotes are highly efficient killing machines, whether they are targeting game animals, birds or pets. That young one has already been taught not to fear humans, and will prey on cats and small dogs throughout your area, as will its offspring. Around here, cats are known as "Coyote Krunch," the snack that keeps them coming back. Do your cat a favor, shoot every coyote you see, especially the brazen ones.

Oh man, you guys are brutal! I'd have given them all little bowls of milk with some nice chicken strips from KFC. Then I'd give them cute little names, like Muffy or Fifi. We could romp and play in the living room until, sadly, they felt the call of the wild urging them home. Even thinking about it makes me sad. On the other hand, maybe I'd just blast them.

I'm a rifle instructor - with my son's, and other, Boy Scout troops. I spend a lot of time telling the kids not to shoot animals for no reason. These are suburban, not country, kids and I don't want them going on a vigilante-wildlife-witchhunt every time they get outdoors with a gun. It's also dangerous in zillions of ways if you don't know what you're doing.

As has already been said, coyotes aren't harmless. So in this case, yep, blast him.

Can't remember, are coyotes nocturnal? As I recall, if you see a nocturnal animal wandering around during the day, then he's sick. Correct?
