I have more enemies than I realized.

David Canary? Candy from Bonanza is anti-gun? I guess all the time in New York doing soap operas changed him. Another childhood cherished memory tarnished. Oh well, Hoss was my favorite character anyway.

Was surprised not to see Bank of America on the list after what they did to Barrett firearms.

I guess I'm not keeping up with "National Figures" as I only recognized the names of four of them. Carter, Eisner, Koch and Koop. And I almost missed Prez Carter since they listed him as James instead of Jimmy.

Despite Southland being on the list I'll still go into my local 7-11. It's a franchise, not a company-owned store. I never bought Ben & Jerry's anyway. But now I know somebody doesn't like Sara Lee...

I am not surprised, but amazed that so many Jewish persons and organizations are listed. If anyone should be pro-gun, they should. Maybe they just have short memories. I have also been amazed that any major national business or Hollywood entertainment type would take ANY public stance on guns (or politics, for that matter) due to the risk involved of alienating a substantial portion of its customer base. But they do. So no one remembers what happened to the Dixie Chicks (deservedly) because one of them stupidly shot off her mouth in public?

Seems we have a lot of enemies out there and some of them I didn't know about. A lot of them are religious organizations but I'll bet a lot of their parishioners don't know about their stance.

When was the last time that list was updated? I noticed somewhere in there it said the list was compiled in 2010 I think. That means we may have more out there than we know about.

As for Fonda I still think we need to either get her for treason or send her back to North Viet Nam.

Just my two cents.

I get frequent emails from an organization called Jews for the Preservation of Firearms Ownership ( JPFO ). They have had some interesting articles on why so many Jewish politicians and organizations are anti gun even though it is clear that they would have done much better in Germany if they had had the attitudes that Israel has today.

They have some great videos. Their website is well worth reading. http://jpfo.org/

After posting this I found an essay from the site discussing Jewish/American attitudes toward firearms. Pretty interesting. http://jpfo.org/articles-assd02/why-jews-hate-guns.htm

I would hope that the actors on that list will never take a role in a movie where the would engage in the use of firearms (under any circumstances).

Good thing Jodie Foster, who is on the list, outgunned the bad guy in The Silence of the Lambs. I guess in real life she would have just had a heart-to-heart with him.

I'd be willing to bet that a lot of these anti gun actors own guns of some kind. And a lot of those that don't have a bodyguard that carries for their protection. In other words it's okay for me because I am special.

As a group, we're well educated, often successful in business, but we don't seem to know a whole lot about human nature.

That might be changing. After the 2008 election a lot of my friends have stopped thinking of me as a gun owning whacko and want to learn how to shoot and get the CCW license.

If you went back in time, there would have been a list much the same who wanted a King rather than a Republic. The ignorant, the cowed, and the elite.

And here we are on the eve of Marine Corps Birthday. God Bless America.

I took a college course in Revolutionary War history in the 1960s and the teacher told us that during the war one third of the colonialists were in favor of the revolution, one third were pro Brit, and the last third were neutral. Could have been a precursor of the political polarization we still have in America today.

I keep trying to figure out how apparently good people can arrive at diametrically opposite conclusions when faced with the same facts and circumstances and be absolutely certain they are right.

Fear, misinformation, experience (and lack of it) and ignorance

Eli Wallech. Remember him from "The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly"? Glad I didn't see Clint's name in there (please don't tell me I missed it). For these actors who made violent movies in the past (and present.......Stallone: Expendables 2), how do they exist in those two worlds simultaneously? If you truly believe something, shouldn't it exist deep within your core being? I guess money trumps everything and easily justifies the hypocrisy.

"Well, there's real Jews, and then there's those that are just kind of Jew-ish"

Joke from a friend, mazal tov!
