many our men and women in uniform are serving in far away places this Thanksgiving and will not be with their families on thursday. let's think of them and thank them for their service so we back home can enjoy a free country. i know i spent many Thanksgivings overseas, a couple in hostile fire zones i believe they called them. i know how they feel and how they miss being with loved ones. lee

I almost got trampled this morning by several hundred people doing the Bagram Airfield Turkey Trot 2012. The folks are doing their best to put out a good spread but we are a little homesick. Had lunch and dinner, it was a good meal, only down side is the pumpkin pie was more frozen than the vanilla ice cream!!

For all that are standing duty today stay safe, And may the SAR birds
Stay on the ground and not be needed.

I went to Thanksgiving Mass at lunch, the priest was getting all set up and then happened to look up and said "God Bless us all, we got a full house, I should of set up the PA system". My friends waited for me to get done with church and we all got in line at the chow hall and enjoyed each others fellowship. Here are some pictures of the Dragon Dining Hall taken at breakfast before the crowd was let in for lunch!!

They're in our hearts and minds every day. My boy will be home Sunday, we're having dinner at my parent's Monday night. It's been over a year since he's been home, should be a party. He'll go back to A-stan again in January so it'll be at least another year before we see him again. I wish it was different, but someone has to hold the line. Thank God we have them.

As yourself, many of us have been there. I know you and your family and son are going to have a GREAT DAY together.

After being absent, there is nothing like touching the green green grass of home. No reason for me to say enjoy the day:)

Give him an Army salute for me, and let him know we are all proud of him, and all those wearing the uniform.

Here is the picture my friend took, he did not realize he had two turkey's standing together!!
