My short ownership of a 329PD....Thoughts and Observations.....

Yea, I didnt think it would recoil harder than my Ruger 454 Casull. I would have tolerated at least equal recoil of my 454. I have been around and shot ALOT of big handguns. There was nothing else to reference the 329 against in my collection.
with.
OP, did you really expect anything different when you purchased the thing?

I'll admit these things are a handful but the first thing I did when I got mine was take off the wooden grips and put on Hogue Decelerator grips. They are fairly cushy on the rear edge.
I bought it for hiking in grizzly country and practice with Garrett 300 hammerheads. No problem if one just comprehends what they have in their hands. It ain't for plinking.

I suppose I am the exception. I was disappointed in the lack of recoil considering what I had read about it. I would have loved to keep it, but I couldn't stand the thought of having to send it back in to have the blast shield replaced on a regular basis considering the only thing I would shoot out of it was 300gr Cast HP's over 22gr of H110.

I suppose I have shot too much big stuff.
